Help me make a deck that doesn't care!

Commander Deck Help forum

Hey friends, I'm just looking for some help building a casual deck with a theme of "who cares?" It would probably be mono-red or Gruul, and the point of the deck is to be able to adapt to or ignore anything my opponents throw at me. Something like "Oh, a boardwipe? That's fine, I'll just sacrifice all of my creatures to Goblin Bombardment to deal a bunch of damage to you." I would like to be able to rebuild after boardwipes, have multiple wincons, and be able to generally ignore everything my opponents do and keep doing my thing. Any recommendations for cards that will let me say "who cares"?

Requiem Angel seems really cool with Goblin Bombardment

The deck I play that absolutely does everything you've mentioned is Omnath, Locus of Rage.

It takes advantage of ramp; which is something you'll likely be doing anyway

It takes advantage of boardwipes. I've even boardwiped myself to deal the final blow to my opponents. (Sadly you don't get the lightning bolt trigger for omnath himself unless he goes to the grave)

Those colors have an answer to just about anything. Artifacts, enchantments, lands, creatures, planeswalkers; you name it

They have options for infinite combo wincons. I run infinite combat phases and also land combos. (Perilous Forays + omnath + either Amulet of Vigor, Lotus Cobra, or Earthcraft pulls all of the basic lands out of your deck and 'bolts for each token that dies)

Here's my list if you'd like to take a look :)

griffstick Requiem Angel type effects would be great; replacing all of your tokens with more tokens after a boardwipe would be very fun.

greyninja Omnath seems like a very good fit for the deck. Everything you mentioned seems pretty good, and I'll check out your deck.

Thanks for the suggesions!

I recently built The Druken Enraged based on the enrage mechanic. The whole point is to have your creatures get hurt a lot. I even use Repercussion with Blasphemous Act to potentially win the game right there. Still very early in play tests but it is a "come at me bro" deck. Similar to what you want.

Fresh Meat is great against board wipes, or with Goblin Bombardment

You might like Synthetic Destiny completely dodges board wipes and replaces your creatures with other ones from the deck. Or Second Sunrise

Marchesa, the Black Rose, is great for dealing with board wipes. I know it's not the mono red/gruul you were looking for. I made a Marchesa deck that my play groups don't even bother to board wipe. Check it out: Marchesa- Cycling Creatures Shenanigans.
