I was wondering if Eater of Hope and Abhorrent Overlord would make a good late game combo for mass removal?

Thoughts?

Eater of Hope and Abhorrent Overlord do synergize very well together but to use them as mass removal is very expensive mana-wise. I'm not sure what your budget is like but if you wanted to make this combo better you could include things like: Black Market, Blood Artist or Grave Pact effects, or even something like Grave Betrayal or Harvester of Souls for a little bit more advantage. Hope this helps to at least give you ideas!

For mass removal, no. For single target removal, there are better single target removal. Abhorrent overlord is fine for late game but Eater is not good enough IMO for late game combos

If you want mass removal, try In Garruk's Wake, Crux of Fate, Forced March, Life's Finale, Necromantic Selection

here's an article for you if you want more options:

I second the use of cards like Grave Pact and Dictate of Erebos, especially if you are sacrificing your own creatures for effects. They work really well if you are running some sac outlets like Ashnod's Altar or the like.

Like chaosumbreon87 mentions, though, there are several stand alone mass removal spells that you could run that would do the job well and set you up for a win. Plague Wind is another one, and the cream of the crop is Damnation, but expensive.

i find Archfiend of Depravity to be one of the best investments i have ever made. card is easily worth $10 to me given all the things it has gotten rid of but you can get it now for the low low price of your soul ;) or on tcgplayer for like a buck. does more work with less effort than what you are looking at, also teams well with them if you run all three.
