New Changes —Sept. 5, 2017

I had been focusing on my new Ur-Dragon and Arahbo decks from C17 and hadn't updated this one in a while. Back at it is I love this deck. Made the following changes:

Ghoulcaller Gisa--->Dragonlord Silumgar: Silumgar didn't really fit in the dragon deck so he comes back over here. Gisa unfortunately just operated too slowly.

Dissipate--->Illusionist's Bracers: Can't believe I forgot all about the bracers. Thanks SpookyToe for reminding me. Double Scarab God activations sounds great.

Monastery Siege--->Frantic Search: I'm feeling like the deck has plenty of enchantments and artifacts that mill/discard. I wanted another one at instant speed (that essentially is free).

Epiphany at the Drownyard--->Ancient Excavation: I find that Ancient Excavation usually gives me greater card selection than epiphany at the drownyard unless I am making X a large number which typically I'm not.

Swamp--->Crypt of Agadeem: Going to see if this provides a lot of mana in here. I'm exiling creatures from my grave so frequently it may not actually tap for that much mana. Worth trying for a while though.

I see our deck lists for Scarab are decently different. Which is a good thing. I like to see other people's take on it. I would recommend putting the a small suite of clones in the deck. Clever Imposter, Phantasmal Image, and maybe stunt double. They would excellent with carrying, draining more and more with each one and its cool to animate the Imposter as another valuable perm. Like being a 4/4 Zombie Necropotence or something.

Panharmonicon to get more out of the ETB triggers from your zombie tokens, and Illusionist's Bracers to get two zombies for the price of one

Bloodchief Ascension + Duskmantle Guildmage + Mindcrank

Cheap combo pieces for your colors. Mindcrank alone with your commander is brutal.

This may have been addressed before, but one thing I've noticed while playing is that this deck has a real problem against Rest in Peace and Leyline of the Void. It's happened a few times where these have come out, and the only way of removing them is bounce with Venser, Shaper Savant and counter when it's played again. The UB combo isn't very good on enchantment removal, but is there anything you can think to throw in to deal with these problems?

Also, any black deck should be running Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth (which this one is), as well as Cabal Coffers in my opinion.
