First game:0-1
Lost to a mono green devotion deck that proved too large to deal with, and that was even with my double strike slivers and the overlord. Got him down to 4, but he gained critical mass AND pulled out the new Garruk, which actually is amazing as advertised. Its a four ability planeswalker, and its basically a three turn wincon if not dealt with. Almost a black green elspeth of sorts, but better.
Added 4x Swan song, 2x Sliver Hivelord, took out 2 Forest, 4 striking sliver as he was redundant with bonescythe. Also, Mana sliver makes lands somewhat irrelevant once it hits the table.
Game 2: 2-0
Guy was playing a Blue-Green constellation /ramp/strength from the fallen+commune with the gods deck. He actually got a lot of action going, and a lot of creatures, but g1 i was able to swan song his unblockable 1 drop he presumably would pump with his strength of the fallen, and then syncopate his eidolon of blossoms. So those counters really do the trick.
Anyway, the deck can kill really quickly once haste, double strike, and flying sliver are all out. Plus lifelink sliver gives you insane lifegain which destroys aggro decks.
Note:
Might consider some Magma jets too for scry action, but don't know what I'd rather take out.
Decided to SB the Syphon Sliver, as he's really only relevant against other aggro decks or big creature decks. Against control I'd rather have haste and magma jets for reach and card advantage.
