No money for LotV, Wastelands, Sinkholes or Fetch lands right now. The Bloodghasts are in the mail to complete the deck. Just wanted a budget version I could get playing with.
Things not in the deck:4 Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth (hoping to pull from 2015 packs, swamps for now)
4 Funeral Charm - I like the loss of life on Misery charm and the drain life on Ebony. Funeral Charm is quite the Swiss Army Knife tho, so I'm just picking up 4 of each and I can mix and match and see which I like best.
4 Extirpate - Jesters Capping people is always a good thing.
Raven's Crime/Syphon Life - I know these would be better if I was using Crucible of Worlds. I just picked up a pair of Sword of Feast and Famine and decided to drop them in the deck instead of these 2 cards. Vicious Bottle Gnomes or float 2 mana, activate Chimeric Idol, equip and serve. Getting to make my opponent discard another card and getting to untap my lands sounds like a good deal.
Things in the deck:1 Volrath's Stronghold - Bottle Gnome, return and do your task again! :) Recursive Bottle Gnome hilarity and hijinks will ensue.
Chimeric Idol - Just an artifact, so creature hate only gets to hit it part time
Bottle Gnomes - Free life, always able to get the life when targeted for removal, if I have to sac them to a pox effect, likely just take the life and help offset the Pox effect
Misery Charm - Opp loses 2 life. Need I say more?
Geth's Verdict - Yes, it costs 1 more than Innocent Blood, but I don't lose a creature and my opponent also loses 1 life. Win/win.
Sword of Feast and Famine - See above. I like the synergy w/the deck.
That Sideboard:Yeah, pretty basic to start. Just lacking the Charms and SD's. Drain Life, Fear and GY hate. More removal+life gain. Tribe murdering (boo Elves!). Extra GY hate. I suppose I could use something like Drown in Sorrow if I wanted, but I like the permanent Plague option.
