Original Post

Currently brewing with spoilers shown as far as 4 Jan 2019. RNA is bringing some good looking simic cards to the table, so I am hoping to make something playable in this guild. This is not another Merfolk deck.

The power in this deck begins with Biomancer's Familiar . It enables rapid adaptations and searches off of Growth-Chamber Guardian . The deck has ramp capabilities in Growth Spiral and deck searching with Incubation/Incongruity. There is a strong control aspect using Frilled Mystic and Sinister Sabotage . Wilderness Reclamation allows you to both play creature threats and have mana open to counter you opponents plays.

Aeromunculus and Zegana, Utopian Speaker are there to close games either with a flying threat or a big beater.

Feel free to throw suggestions and help put something in Simic together!

Update: 11 Jan 2019

The full RNA spoilers are out, so I will be trying to fine tune this build now. The deck still leans heavily on Biomancer's Familiar to adapt Growth-Chamber Guardian multiple times. Zegana, Utopian Speaker is proving to be a strong game ender by giving adapted creatures trample.

The counter spells and Frilled Mystic work great when Wilderness Reclamation is down, but it sometimes conflicts with trying to play aggressive through adaptations. I am looking for ways to smooth this out.

Update 14 Jan 2019

After testing this out more, I think its best to choose a more distinct direction for this deck. There was a lot of conflict between when to play aggro and when to play control, and unless you drew into Wilderness Reclamation , the deck wouldn't have mana open to do what it wanted to do. For that reason, I am making the following changes:

-3 Aeuromunculus, -4 Frilled Mystic (even though I do think this card has a home somewhere), -3 Chemster's Insight, -3 Sinister Sabatoge, and -4 Wilderness Reclamation .

The direction I am currently testing will be more aggro based with ramp into big Hydroid Krasis plays.

+4 Hydroid Krasis , +4 Llanowar Elves , +1 Zegana, Utopian Speaker , +3 Incubation Druid , +3 Opt , and +2 Dive Down .
