Field of the Dead was a misunderstood card who only wanted to bring balance to an otherwise control heavy standard environment consisting of Esper and Bant Hero decks. It could be seen day in and day out churning out little 2/2 bundles of rotting bones and flesh in order to keep slow cancerous control decks from gaining a foothold. It worked well by itself, but was an absolute workhorse in multiples. It's arch nemesis, Ashiok, Dream Render, is said to be broken up over the banning as it has put it out of work, saying, "How will my Unmoored Ego go on without it? What Legion will I end now? Field is survived by Golos, Tireless Pilgrim and Gatebreaker Ram. Those who lovingly played Field ask that any condolences or donations be made by smashing F in the comments. #RIPField
