Cards I'm not a huge fan of:

Cheap equipment/auras that only booster P/T. These are good board state plays in limited and standard, but quickly become irrelevant in commander. Cards that fall under this category:

Trusty Machete, Darksteel Axe, Armory of Iroas, Ensouled Scimitar, Bonesplitter, Ordeal of Thassa, Sunbond, Spirit loop, Daily Regimen.

I get that this is a bit voltron-y, but to really go ham with Daxos I think you should focus on the card-advantage swings he does. Zur and Bruna are both better for doing the suited-up beatdown if that's what you want, but I don't think it is.

Equipment/auras that gives medicore pseudo evasion. You have stuff that makes you real unblockable, you don't need to mess around with second rate stuff. Cards in this category:

Angelic Armaments, Bladed Pinions, Vorrac Battlehorns, Gorgon's head, Inviolability.

Mana dorks. Artifact mana dorks are generally costed the same as mana rocks, and are just easier to remove. I'd replace the 2 drop myr with signets, "diamons" (sky, marble), and other mana rocks that fit in the same slot. You also have a lot of ramp in general, but the deck seems to run pretty cheap.

My decks usually just run about five rocks unless they're pretty heavily ramp based. Sol ring, thran dynamo, Gilded lotus, and chromatic lantern are my usual go-to with mana crypt if I'm feeling fancy. Add in signets and Sissay ring/Ur-Golem eye if I need to ramp harder, and Dreamstone Hedron if I'm going for eldrazi (which you're not so I'm not sure you should run it. Not super opposed to it though.)

Creatures I think just don't pull their weight:

Lavinia, Oriss, Minister of Impediments (I wouldn't run gideon's lawkeeper, and this guy just seems slower), Etherium Sculptor, Jalira (I don't think you really have high value targets to hit in this deck), Master Transmuter (You don't have a ton of expensive artifacts to make it worth messing with),

My concern about putting in Whispersilk Cloak is that I don't want to lock myself out of being about to equip Daxos because he has shroud. That's why I'm trying to focus on hexproof instead. I will likely add it anyway and deal with it as I can.

I like Field of Dreams and Lantern of Insight . I doubt I can get my hands on the former. I am looking through my collection for the latter but my selection of artifacts seems more limited than I remember.

I also run a Daxos/Soldiers EDH deck. It's a lot of fun. Some words of wisdom:

Spirit Mantle - Like Holy Mantle but cheaper, plus if you run both, double the chances of drawing one. Any and every way to make Daxos unblockable is priceless.

I have learned that anything that looks scarier than Daxos makes people forget he's there. For me, it's making lots of cheap 1/1 soldiers and making them big.

On the same note, since Daxos is a soldier, there are tons of cards that buff soldiers. Frontline Medic , Rhox Pikemaster , Archetype of Courage , Elspeth, Sun's Champion , Captain of the Watch , Phalanx Leader , Wings of Aesthir . Although maybe this is not the flavor you want for your Voltron deck.

I play a deck that started out rather similar like this actually with a lot of pump and all the beautiful stuff, though it is more enchantment heavy instead of working with artifacts. What I've been taught (and advised) from the games I played was that a Deck with Daxos needed to be control heavy. Since the entire deck (with or without a few emergency options) runs on Daxos it is of utmost importance that he stays on the field, so you'll have to able to counter the counters/exiles/spot removals of enemies on the spot - potentially even before Daxos hits the board as a creature (e.g. when they try to negate him).

What you need are some Equpiment Search cards to get a fast hold of the boots to Hexproof and Shroud Daxos, like Quest for the Holy Relic or Steelshaper Apprentice and definitely Steelshaper's Gift and Stoneforge Mystic (I realize the latter are in your Maybeboard already, but I absolutely second getting this). Alternatively a variety of Counterspells wouldn't hurt for protection. If you want to take the full advantage of Daxos's last ability it doesn't hurt to keep some mana open anyway so you can play your opponent's deck. And in order to make sure that the damage actually does come through if the opponent plays weenies and/or tokens some Trample Equip to add wouldn't hurt as well like Loxodon Warhammer or Ring of Kalonia =)

I like the deck, I tried a Daxos deck when he came out, it didn't work as well so I just put him in my Geist deck, cool looking deck though.

I think you're missing out if you aren't running Ensoul Artifact. I personally would put it in place of Unexpectedly Absent just because you can't tuck a commander anymore.

Spectral Flight is a fun card in this type of deck.

Unexpectedly Absent is there to put any problem permanent on top of the library for . Then I can either steal it if I have mana or just exile it if not. Also 2 mana kill for the commander to make them recast seems reasonable to me.
