My version of the popular Mono Black Devotion Control in Pauper. Mostly inspired by the Professor's version (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6wH5M33uZAU) but cutting off some things i think might work better.
UPDATE 07.01.2020: The deck has been outperforming so far. First FNM got nothing but wins through the 4 rounds, the other FNMs have been either first or second place. If you are looking to build the deck yourself, here are some tips from me after playing it for a while:
-Fog of Gnats is underrated, this card allowed me to win several matches, just by blocking for a round or two, while searching for good answers. It also lets you either protect monarch from being taken, or take it back, as few creatures in Pauper have flying (at least in my meta!)
-Being monarch is goooooooood
-Watch out for Mono-White Heroic, their protection from black or all colors is a NIGHTMARE for you. Bring these sacrifices with you and hope you'll be able to clean their board.
UPDATE 13.02.2020
I've experimented with the new Omen of the Dead and found it to work very well. Although less of a tempo play than Unearth, it lets you bring back bigger creatures like Gurmag or Gary. What's more, you may have late game scry 2 with it, which saved me 2 games of being flooded for 2 turn, possibly letting me win. So yeah, I think it's great, better than Unearth. And the additional 1 devotion for just being there is an additional cherry on a tree.
Oh, also swapped Geth's Verdict for Chainer's Edict. It's just better, although more expensive. However I've come to love the format and want to have my deck tuned up, so it's a very nice upgrade (maybe not NECESSARY, but VERY helpful).
