Scrapyard Mongrel

Creature — Hound

As long as you control an artifact, Scrapyard Mongrel gets +2/+0 and has trample. (If it would assign enough damage to its blockers to destroy them, you may have it assign the rest of its damage to defending player or planeswalker.)

Scrapyard Mongrel Discussion

Nice deck, and ultra budget. +1!

I would only trade the Built to Smash for Rootborn Defenses or Make a Stand. Marshaling Cry could also be big deal.

Although not servo, Origin Spellbomb could be faster then Cogworker's Puzzleknot.

And the only thing I'm worried about the deck is the number of servos. Isn't it too few? Consider maybe splashing for black, so you can get Weaponcraft Enthusiast, Marionette Master and maybe Underhanded Designs. Syndicate Trafficker also feels better then Salivating Gremlins or at least Scrapyard Mongrel.

Hey! just played you. GGs. I took a look and have some random suggestions:

Fireforger's Puzzleknot -- > Pyrite Spellbomb. Though the puzzleknot might be a bit better right now b/c of lots of boros tokens, I think that Pyrite is just a better card overall. You can take out real creatures with Pyrite (flipped delver, some stompy threats).

I don't think Ornithopter really has a place here. It doesn't really represent that much damage. Maybe I'm wrong here though, b/c of the Reckless Fireweavers.

Maybe find a place for Ghirapur Gearcrafter? Seems decent enough :). maybe over some combination of Scrapyard Mongrel and Ornithopter?

Anyways, fun games! Take my suggestions with a grain of salt ;).

@Dahhahm I know smartymarty IRL so it's not like I was tearing into some Anon on the web. I really like your Into the Roil suggestion, and while it's true I don't have many "Win Conditions" and Siege Dragon is on the weaker side, I don't want to tilt my Mana Curve up too much to fit more in.

I do think with Scrapyard Mongrel, and even more so withProfane Memento that I could do better there... probably just dropping Profane Memento and replacing the Scrapyard Mongrels with some copies of Nivix Cyclops which play better into the deck probably. Maybe with the lowering of the curve from that change I could put some other "Win Conditions" in...
