Thank you for the support! I am glad you like the new decks, and I am looking forward to refining them as the battle between Merlin and Morgana rages on.

Getting her spayed is a good idea regardless. I would check with your local humane societies to see if any are holding spay and neuter appointments; the only catch here is that there are often limited availabilities. Shelters can either do the procedure on a sliding scale depending on your financial situation, offer large blanket discounts, or simply do the procedure for free (or for a handful of high-need shelter items like blankets, animal beds, or food).

DoomNoodle True but there are still valid concerns over the implications of non-acorn, eternal legal cards as well. Most of the above is a reaction to those. Again, bringing a 122 card deck is now legal in EDH; for many, that’s simply a huge pill to swallow. Of course, the game will survive and continue but these are undoubtedly massive changes with fundamental precedents rewritten - it’s a lot to process.

Unfinity feels like that old episode of Pokémon where Ash and the gang get trapped in Sabrina’s doll house; we are the gang, Hasbro is the shifting haunted doll house squeezing the energy out of us, and MaRo is the possessed child spirit pissed that no one wanted to play with his un-sets.

I’m really confused as to how both the sticker decks and the attraction decks will be legal in EDH. Like, don’t wish cards not work specifically because the RC wanted EDH to be 100 total cards period? I get that Wizards pushed this idea with partner commanders and companion but 20 (then 13 once the game starts) extra cards to the side seems like a lot. It’s so weird to me that someone can literally go “Here’s my legal 122 card deck for this 100 card singleton format” ... sigh

Wow, I love the new look! Your deck break-down is so detailed too! Clearly a labor of love <3

To this day, I am still a mono color player through and through. I love having a rock solid mana base and in a previous life, actually reveled in sadistic glee by punishing players for non basic lands (a part of me still really loves the flavor of doming an opponent for lethal with a Price of Progress).
I think the color pie is fascinating, especially in looking at how that pie has changed over the years. I love the feel of old cards, both literally and mechanically. I specifically fell for the way old black cards used to provide wild, tremendous power in exchange for very real costs.
This game is awesome and I love how everyone can focus on different aspects of it in their own unique ways :)

I’m not sure if you celebrate but happy Mabon and Autumn Equinox :)

You could also keep it on a ‘sideboard’ with the deck and swap to it when people are okay with you playing it. I actually do a similar thing with my old-school deck and Yawgmoth's Bargain; I sometimes swap a card for it when my playgroup is playing more higher-tiered decks as a way for me to help keep up with the rest of the group.

While I don’t personally love the way new commanders are made, I solve this by simply not playing with them. I find it way more fun to find random weird cards from 2 decades ago. It doesn’t bug me that others play them though, quite the opposite in fact.
I work is a public school district hat serves families with very limited resources. I run an after school club and regularly teach middle school and high school students how to play the game; it’s awesome to see them be able to crack literally any new pack and find a commander to start crafting a deck around. While I agree the novelty of the Legendary creature type is lost, the benefit comes in terms of greater accessibility.
A great example is last year my partner and I were able to run a small sealed tournament for the kids using the then brand new Streets of New Capenna set. Every kid got several packs to build a deck, compete with, and then take those cards home. After the tournament, the vast majority of them of them took one (or several) of the variety of legendaries they cracked and then created new EDH decks that they still play today.

This might be a stupid suggestion but it sounds like she was using her old box fairly well - perhaps just go back to using that old box?
