My Jund lands EDH deck has a three-card wincon. I think I need one for that deck.

I don't see the value in a 7 mana tutor that you ideally would want to use with less that 3 cards in hand. I guess good in EDH... maybe?
Edit after seeing above comment: I rest my case.

There's always a chance a control deck might want one in Standard, but I dont think the meta will be slow enough to include this.

Too expensive. At five mana it would have been amazing. Six mana, still might be playable. But seven....

I've been testing Esper superfriends all afternoon. Thing is insane.
Sorin is RIDONK. Jace is okay.
March 17, 2016 10:58 p.m.
For the person that does have it in their deck, there are at least ways for Blue to steal it - Talent of the Telepath

Can't wait to Shadow of Doubt a Behold the Beyond...
But yeah in all seriousness, it seems really unpolitical in multiplayer EDH/Commander unless you have enough mana to cast it then your infinite combo/winning interaction, in which case that's really situational for a seven drop.

MagicalHacker I would literally cry if that happened to me. Or just Past in Flames/Recoup it. Whichever comes first. :P

TheHroth: How's Esper been treating you? Esper was my initial thought then theorizing a list, but then green gives Oath of Nissa, which is amazing. Thought about tossing out blue for Abzan, but then I lose a lot of great
control spells, green's planeswalkers don't seem too impressive to me, and the mana base is pretty bad without Oath of Nissa. Could play Bant, but then I lose Sorin, Grim Nemesis, and I really want to play him.

Do y'all remember Moonmist? This set would be a timely reprint because werewolves, vampires, other flip cards, and the flip planeswalkers from Origins

just played about 4 matches on trice with a guy. He was on Esper control and jesuuuuuus christ. Epiphany at the Drownyard is going to be nuts.
March 17, 2016 11:39 p.m.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the flip planeswalkers work by exiling them, then returning them transformed, so it's not exactly a "transform." Still, that's reasonably solid wording evidence that they thought about how Moonmist would interact with them.
March 17, 2016 11:39 p.m.
VampireArmy says... #14
basically it does transform them, but it fails to add loyalty since they don't enter as walkers, so they just die.
Edit: and since this would be pretty confusing, i doubt we'll see it.
March 17, 2016 11:43 p.m. Edited.
Moonmist Rulings:
"Moonmist causes any double-faced Human to transform, not just Werewolves."
So this should work for the Origins planeswalkers, superceding the planeswalker's conditional flip text?

"Eternal Vigil"

Enchantment
Non-token creatures you control gain +1/+1 and vigilance.
Name and flavor text aren't official yet. It looks like the first card in the set, so its name will start with an A.

Very well. I'm undefeated with the deck so far against many different opponents. Bant Coco, B/W stuff, other esper decks, ur aggro, eldrazi ramp...something like 12-0 now it's cray cray I stopped counting after 8.
All have crumbled thus far to the power of 15 mainboard PW's and Kalitas.

Lol that card is literally Intangible Virtue in reverse.

Now that's a great replacement for Monastery Swiftspear at least for standard. Can also be a budget Goblin Guide in modern burn.
March 18, 2016 3:51 a.m.
Wait, so... Theoretically, there could be a Phyrexian planeswalker? The spark wouldn't even need to be donated, go see Memnarch.

Confirm Suspicions
3UU
Instant
Counter target spell.
Investigate three times. (Put a colorless Clue artifact token onto the battlefield with "2, Sacrifice this artifact: Draw a card.")
"Everyone is hiding something." (Or something similar.)
Personally, I would have preferred a Dissolve that investigated instead of scrying, but...

Oh man, I really think this set is going to be awesome.
It would be nice if they would return to the 'curse' cards, with something like: Cursebreaker, human-wizard, flash, return target curse to owners hand
And it would be hilarious if they have a 'clueless' card , to oppose all those clue cards :)
March 18, 2016 5:43 a.m.
I am really feeling mill this set, and I haven't for a long time :D.
(Not for powerlevel, but because there are actual mill cards that could make a deck with Jace, Vryn's Prodigy Flip as a delirium enabler+looter.)

Briarback patrol looks kinda fun. It gives you a little extra from 6 mana: draw 3 cards (3 clues)
March 18, 2016 7:04 a.m.
Parish Blade has a tentacle coming out of his wrist.
Less relevant but funny, Manic Scribe has stabbed himself with his quill.

Well there's a new instant called Second Harvest 4cmc copies the tokens you have and makes another. Now I'm trying to brew some weird Naya Token Superfriends deck. I'm bad at posting images so I'll leave that to someone else.
March 18, 2016 7:54 a.m.
Briarbridge Patrol
First ability is not 'combat' damage so it triggers off 'fight' effects.
Also, second ability triggers no matter how/why you sac'd the clue tokens... including Pia and Kiran Nalaar.

Confirm suspicions is just not that great
Ok, you get three clues, but there's not enough here to justify paying a 5 mana counterspell

DarkLaw, fortunately, no, there could not be a Phyrexian Planeswalker. The spark actually does provide a natural immunity to the oil. It's how Venser, the Sojourner was able to cure Karn (turning him into Karn Liberated in the process). It's also why the current Planeswalkers are able to fight Phyrexia (rather ineffectually, unfortunately) without worrying about carrying the plague to other planes.
March 18, 2016 8:43 a.m.
I'm hoping to see something like "If you've sacrificed (some number) clue tokens, take an extra turn after this one."
March 18, 2016 8:51 a.m.
ItchiUchiha117, Ob Nixilis had his spark sealed by Nahiri. Becoming a demon does not cause someone to lose their spark. Ob Nixilis Reignited's "armor" looks pretty much the same as it has.
March 18, 2016 8:54 a.m.
Ob Nix had lost his spark before before he was sealed by Nahiri, but after he had become a demon. Apparently it was in some way caused by the mana of Zendikar (no clue as to why that would be the case though). Source.

Compare Ob Nixilis, the Fallen's plating with Ob Nixilis Reignited. One the first, the plating is a part of him, that is clearly fused to his flesh. In his newest incarnation, the armor gas taken on a slightly different color and has clear lines of separation from his flesh.
Did not say that becoming a demon had caused him to lose his spark (and if it seemed I implied that, I did not intend to and apologize for any confusion).
March 18, 2016 9:09 a.m.
As a reminder, Ob Nixilis became a Demon thanks to The Chain Veil, which is the main curse on the veil. Remember he used to be Ob Nixilis of the Black Oath and human.

NarejED - I suspected someone would make that joke. - You confirmed it for me.
March 18, 2016 9:19 a.m.
Anybody seen Diregraf Colossus yet? I'm not a magician, so I won't post a picture. It gets +1/+1 counters upon casting for other zombies in your Grave and cranks out zombie tokens. It's got serious combo potential.
March 18, 2016 9:21 a.m.
You don't need to be suspicious about puns, Rayenous. It's a confirmed fact that if there is a pun to be made, someone will make it.
March 18, 2016 9:21 a.m.
A Blood Scrivener, that checks everyone's hand on their upkeep... and has an extra power, and has Madness.
The power creep is real with this one.
March 18, 2016 9:38 a.m.
I think blood scrivener was kind of below curve though so I'm not entirely certain that this is worrying creep. I think they're just trying to get it right this time.

alcor91 oh my dear sweet Luna yes. that card is quite literally exactly what I need for my Bant tokens EDH. I will preorder a foil for sure.
March 18, 2016 9:46 a.m.
The 'intervening if' clause is interesting when it comes to having multiples of this card out.
If you have no cards, they all trigger, but you end up drawing 1 (unless you can use each before the next resolves)...
...but, if an opponent has no cards, you will draw one for each one of these you have in play.
March 18, 2016 9:51 a.m.
Guftders - Not really. 8-rack usually runs Ensnaring Bridge, and wants to keep it's own hand empty as well.
It also usually doesn't want to run creatures as it 'turns on' your opponents otherwise dead removal cards. Pack Rat being the exception as it allows you to empty your hand and can be hard to remove (make a copy in response).

Modern vampires almost confirmed, they just require a 2 drop lord and the deck will be an interactive merfolk deck!

They can't keep printing amazing vampires like this god damnit. I can't handle this.
