I am considering adding an budget (under 200$) Edric, Spymaster of Trest EDH deck to my collection. I've looked around and it seems like there's the evasive small creatures route, and the goodstuff route. Does anyone have any decklists and/or suggestions?

It's quite simple, really- Play almost nothing but playable 1 and 2 drops that can hit for evasive damage/can produce mana, then play as many Time Warps as you can along with a couple of win cons like Beastmaster Ascension and Notorious Throng and as many good, cheap counterspells that you can play. There are only a few things about the deck that are expensive: Older versions of Time Warp, mana fixing lands, the best mana rocks, and Gaea's Cradle.

You need 4 things in edric:
Creature Ramp: Elvish Mystic, Sylvan Caryatid, Llanowar Elves etc.
Library Manipulation: Ponder, Preordain, Green Sun's Zenith, Brainstorm, Worldly Tutor etc.
Fatties: Genesis Hydra, Lifeblood Hydra, Inkwell Leviathan, Stormtide Leviathan etc.
Removal: Bramblecrush, Whelming Wave (works well with the leviathans), Reality Shift, Desert Twister etc.\
Combine all this and you have a great edric deck sub-200

My buddy Romer runs an effective creature swarm style Edric deck:

I built mine as elfball with counter back up and draw power. It was cute but elf strategy always felt so mind numbing to me lol.

You can save a lot of money focusing more on cheaper lands and abusing green land tutors.
It depends otherwise on your play style, from ones I have seen. The Edric decks I saw most were group huggish and tried to win with a late alpha strike, which might be cheaper to play.
The group hug approach though is very very reliant on your skill as a player at playing your opponents.
