FEED THE GOAT [G/B Pariah Snackrifice]

Standard* BG (Golgari) Competitive Midrange

Sideboard

MUNCH MUNCH. THIS VAMPIRE IS HANGRY.

Deck built around Voldaren Pariah   flips. Runs like a more consistent, less explosive R/B Zombies. Instead of dredge techniques, this deck relies a lot on Voldaren Pariah   to be a powerhouse and runs more powerful creatures to find and support her.

With Kaladesh's release and the rise of a R/B Zombies/dredge build (using Prized Amalgam), I took another look at this deck and added Smuggler's Copter and Scrapheap Scrounger. They're both total powerhouses.

So, the deck has dropped some of its versatility for a more straightforward get-Pariah-win-game path. It mirrors the playstyle of the R/B Zombies deck pretty well--including possibility for a t4 flipped Pariah--but has different strengths and different weaknesses.

Without Prized Amalgam, this deck does not have QUITE the same staying power, though it still has consistent threat with Scrapheap Scrounger. It also doesn't have the possibility of absolutely nuts opening hands (like being able to Cathartic Reunion away a bunch of Amalgams), nor does it have Fiery Temper as removal. Those are all, ahem, difficulties.

What it does get, though, are some added win-cons and more streamlined gameplay.

Foul Emissary, Duskwatch Recruiter  Flip, and Eldritch Evolution are more consistent tutors for Pariah than the discard/draw spells in RB. They also help assemble the absolutely backbreaking combo of Kalitas, Traitor of Ghet + Abolisher of Bloodlines  Flip.

Zulaport Cutthroat, which we have space to run because we aren't running removal, provides a nasty Blood Artist effect that makes Pariah flips stronger and boardwipes sting.

The deck can flip Pariah a little quicker with Catacomb Sifter, who also helps reassemble your hand with the scry triggers.

We get the fast land Blooming Marsh and also the man-land Hissing Quagmire, which makes our mana a little easier and our lategame a little more diversified.

We have sideboard Blossoming Defense to save Pariah.

So basically it's the typical trade-off you would expect from switching from red to green as a support color: green gives you less removal and less explosion in order to provide greater reliability, stronger creatures, and creature tutoring.

I expect it will do about as well as RB Zombies, meaning approximately a tier 1.5 deck depending on meta. I'm looking forward to testing this! :)
