UPDATE Zendikar Rising —Oct. 26, 2020

With Zendikar Rising in stores it's time for a long needed update:

Ancient Greenwarden IN for Thornbite Staff :

Even though I still like the janky infinite combos with the staff it's a dead card in every other situation and not worth the slot. (I will still keep it in the deck description because I'm too lazy to edit it out)

Fiery Emancipation IN for Elemental Mastery :

The simple fact that you just have to remove the enchanted creature to become rid of the mastery made it far too inconsistent.

Garruk's Uprising IN for Sensei's Divining Top :

Top is far better in the early game but has significantly less uses than Uprising in the late game. And I needed top for another deck. Mostly that.

Dryad of the Ilysian Grove IN for Worldly Tutor :

Tutors are great but additional lands are even better in this deck. And it's a huge addition for Scapeshift Valakut wins .

Moraug, Fury of Akoum IN for Forest:

I playtested the deck A Lot with only 38 lands and it did find its lands as consistently as ever. That would be a general rule for every lands matter deck: you don't need more lands in that archetype. You just need more ways to find them and use them more than once.

Bala Ged Recovery  Flip IN for a Forest:

Some additional recursion for nearly no disadvantage.

Terror of the Peaks IN for...?

To be honest I forgot what I took out for this but the fact that I don't remember shows how insignificant that card was. And terror is an additional Surge which is great!

NOTE: I didn't change any descriptions mostly due to lazyness.

I like your addition of the Deathmantle. Its such a great combo card. Looks like this deck is getting really tight!

Im a sucker for combo decks but I mostly use , and so take my suggestions with a grain of salt.

Methinks you have too many combo pieces. Im not sure what your meta is like but I feel streamlining the deck a bit would make it even faster. This means dropping a few combo pieces and win more cards like Doubling Season to make slots for utility cards like maybe Noxious Revival and Skullclamp.

Another card you might be interested in is Birthing Pod. It would open up a lot of possibilities, not to mention help you get to the key creatures of the deck a bit faster.

Lastly, maybe a Xenagos, God of Revels could provide you with an interesting subtheme? With it in play, you can work on beating down your opponents while youre busy assembling your combo for the win.

Overall, the deck looks interesting and fun to play. +1 from me!

Eternal Witness+Explosive Vegetation+Phyrexian Altar+Doubling Season+Parallel Lives:

I think you need Cloudstone Curio/Nim Deathmantle to make this combo infinite. Otherwise it's just one loop.

I like the upgrades and the primer! It looks like you have put a lot of work into everything and it shows!

bushido_man96, thanks a lot! I'm also very content with the way it is right now. My meta is quite fast, most competitive decks usually win on turn 5 or 6 (multiplayer) and this deck can definitely keep up with that speed.

Megalomania, thank you for your suggestions! The good thing of most combo pieces in this list is, that most of them are also decent standalone cards which have high value on its own even without comboing off (the ONLY exception is Thornbite Staff). A great example represents Cloudstone Curio or Nim Deathmantle. Curio is neat as a combo piece but also guarantees the maximum amount of landdrops every turn which adds pressure to my opponents. The mantle on the other hand is also usable for simple recursion/protection and I usually have more than 10 lands in play which doesn't let me care for the trigger cost. You're right with Doubling Season though..but it wouldn't be a token deck and feels empty and cold without it! Aand I will definitely try out Birthing Pod. That card is great! Still not sure if it really fits in here.

hoardofnotions, you're absolutely right! Totally forgot to mention Curio, thank you. Great to hear you like the deck even more! It was quite some work but definitely worth it. But it is also thanks to all of you who constantly give me your feedback and help to improve the deck more and more!!

Man, a turn 5 or 6 win? I'm not sure I could play in that meta. I'm not sure I could afford to play in a meta like that. Kudos to you!
