The Junk Pile, or Pauper Junk, is an archetype defined by survivability through lifegain giving us natural game against the majority of decks who's sole purpose is to bring us to 0 asap. Notably aggro and burn. It also does a bit of reanimating and ramping allowing us to bring out Big Creatures ahead of schedule. It can also mitigate flooding with a low land count but maintain consistent land drops with the landcyclers. Another notable feature of Pauper Junk is the versatility of its cards. With many cards doing double duty against multiple decks and their threats. What I like most is the deck has a fairly steady curve all things considered. Allowing for gameplay and interactivity at every moment of the game, so I'm not bored lol. It packs plenty of punch. And seems well positioned against a number of decks in the format. Some of our main board cards that play into our strategy directly oppose some big names in the format. But mostly it's just fun to play. It scratches that itch for me. And I plan to keep refining this as time passes. I thoroughly enjoy the Junk archetype.

"Just throw a bunch of stuff together and shake it all up!" Pretty much sums up the history of Junk lol.

8/25/25 I played a game this morning with this and it went well. I was up against some mono white heroic/enchantment deck lol. They had no problem having some crazy flying, vigilance word soup 9/9 by turn 5 I think, every round! But it went fairly well, I got lucky 2 rounds (we played 3) in a row and dropped a Troll of Khazad-dum on turn 2 both times so I was able to outpace them. The lifegain came in very handy and so did all the graveyard removal to keep my Exhumes relevant even after filling their yard up. The lifegain was so nice lol, getting me to 0 takes a while heh. And honestly it just gave me time to build a stupid advantage. All in all a fun deck to play in my opinion and exciting too, not very slow to start, you're on by turn 2 sometimes. Plenty of card draw too so even when you're top decking late game you have a chance to fill the hand a bit. I didn't have Cast Down in the main or sideboard that game and I was wishing for it so bad lol. I just threw the deck together and played and didn't even think to haha. Anyways yeah, try it, lemme know what ya think. Toodles
