Inspired by oldschool Suicide Black decks, and most of what made those decks work (discard effects + land destruction + an aggressively costed creature) is available except pauper lacks the ridiculous card advantage of cards like Necropotence or Yawgs Will. Instead I want to refill my hand with Village Rites and Deadly Dispute + Shambling Ghast and Unwilling Ingredient.

Hard to block dudes. Sac them for card draw if they're about to die. Late game pour mana into Howl or Drain Life to finish the opponent, sponsored by Dark Ritual.

Some neat stuff in Baldurs Gate. Zhentarim Bandit seems a bit overlooked imo, it plays really well with Ritual and Duress. Maybe I'm overvaluing it but I see it as bringing more to the table than Ingredient. Gray Slaad would probably feel more at home in a self-mill/reanimator brew but I want to give it a try as curve topper since it pays dividends for the Rites/Dispute draw package.
