I have a lot of budget decks lying around here, but there aren't that many of them that are just pick-up-and-play for people learning the game. So I decided to make a deck series that filled that gap, with common effects and basic strategies that still provide enough depth to be interesting.

This deck sets up a strong early game defense to lock down the opponent, then transitions to a heavy offense to break the game open. Pride Guardian and Nyx-Fleece Ram prevent attacks, and Rip Apart and Banishing Light manage the opponent's utility cards. When establish control over the game, turn to Charging Monstrosaur and Magmatic Hellkite to put lots of pressure down.

If you use this deck as a teaching aid, focus on the flow of combat, showing when to be aggressive and when to be defensive.
