Creature (3)

Planeswalker (2)

Sorcery (3)

My tribal Vampire deck, which I built in tandem alongside a friend of mine. There's no real description other than to say I favored creature (Lifelink) damage with this approach whereas my friend's Vampire deck is much more attrition-based.

I did my first edit on this deck since first creating it (again in tandem alongside a friend of mine). I'm curious if anyone has input and/or suggestions on some other additions other than Pitiless Pontiff and Indulging Partrician that still keep to the general theme of the deck. I'm really trying to shy away from attrition-based effects as that is more along the lines of my friend's build; I just happened to pull some Partricians which is why they went in.

Deck Strategy:

  1. Chiefly this deck wins quickly by coming on strong with attacking creatures. I've taken to the method of using Edge of the Divinity on various Black/White creatures, and thus a vast majority of my selections fall into that category. (Vampire Nighthawk is just too awesome not to include in the deck despite being mono-color)
  2. The three primary quick-win targets for Edge of the Divinity are Nip Gwyllion and Tithe Drinker, which each becoming a very expedient lifelinking monster. Nip Gwyllion is an especially good choice; starting hands that include both him and Edge of the Divinity mean you'll be swinging with a 4/4 Lifelink on Turn 2 regardless of which basic land you play.
  3. I've chosen to use Urge to Feed as my destroy creature option. It is very true that this limits me in the toughness of targets I can hit with it, but its synergy with a Vampire build is so nice that more often than not it makes up the difference. Plus, I can use the counter-adding ability even if I don't manage to kill the creature it targets. It's a great way to quickly beef up a whole mess of Vampire Tokens.
  4. As with most decks meant to play out their hand quickly, this deck struggles once it begins "top-decking", so I included a couple Night's Whisper into the mix. These have pulled me out ahead more than once.

Requested Input (Intended Changes)

The dynamic of using Edge of the Divinity on dual Black/White creatures for a +3/+3 bonus for 1 mana is a hard one for me to shy away from.

Of course Legion Lieutenant isn't a bad target for it either despite not having Lifelink (the primary desired target), but this brings up my issue of lacking a bit of synergy with my cheap creature options. I'd be interested to hear recommendations on Vampire creature-types with converted cost no higher than 2.

I'm curious where other people stand on using Urge to Feed as my (semi) creature-destroy option. If I could get more Vampire synergy I definitely feel this would be an easy sell, but any comments on this topic would be appreciated.

My higher-mana options in the deck flow perfectly well with the Vampire theme, but I can't help but feel I'm overlooking some potential with my cheap-creature selection. Let me know your thoughts!

Updates Add

Added a common and an uncommon that I felt really brought out the utility of my creature-damage win condition. Edge of the Divinity is singularly the best 1-mana enchantment for Black/White imo and Urge to Feed is often overlooked in vampire decks, but it's a pretty cheap weenie destroy and free creature counters are always nice.
