Solid update. I am back to re-tooling Riku and I like your "I have answers for the boardstate" setup.

The only thing I would think to add would be Mystic Snake. I love Glen Elendra but you have so many copy effects sitting around that landing a mystic snake would be a fun counter/threat potential. Especially with kiki jiki in play.

I can definitely see the value Sundial of the Infinite would add, CivilizedSin. Would help me keep the tokens from Flameshadow Conjuring, Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker and Mirror March rather than losing them at the end of a turn. If I had something obvious to take out, I might consider it but I'm not sure if I want to make room for a combo that only works with so few cards. Though it would be hilarious for the effect of a Craterhoof Behemoth to stick around on all my creatures :D I'll keep Sundial in the back of my mind for future updates.

Thanks Forceofnature1! I hadn't done much to Riku in a while but wanted to add an Agent of Treachery and got inspired to re-evaluate a handful of other cards, too. I think you're right about Mystic Snake, I kind of forgot about that snek but with the flash/instant speed options to copy creatures, he'd be a great target. I'll have to Ponder what to take out to make room for him.

Alright Forceofnature1, I swapped my Swiftfoot Boots for a Mystic Snake. I really do like the repeatable nature of that snek. Thanks again!

Damn son I really enjoy this build right here. I have most of these cards and will probably morph to something very similar to this. I am going for maximum impact in a multi-player game and don't want to be the target but know when Riku hits people are going to be waiting for him. I like how this deck synergizes really well off of itself.

Have you played it? Does it work well even if Riku isn't on the board?

Also, if you were going for more mass chaos on the board versus winning outright, what do you think some fun adds would be? I thought that might be fun to just wreck everyone's plans and reset things so the game can go longer.

Welp I keep seeing these updates and this looks like a ton of fun. I actually rebuilt riku with Sakashima at the helm to give it some different flavor. I might have to rebuild this closer to your updated version and see how it plays!

Hey Forceofnature1, thanks for the positive feedback!

Yep, I've played this deck many times over the past decade. It was my first commander deck, way back in 2011, and I've continued updating it over time. Riku's definitely a target when he comes out but there are so many other sources of replication that I can often still be a threat with big board presence without him.

Hmm, I'm not super into chaos playstyles myself but if you were looking to go in that direction I'm thinking you'd want things that let you cast spells for free so you could save your mana to copy those spells or copy the creatures as they enter the battlefield. Things like:

You could also look at things that have this effort for all players, banking on your ability to create additional copies of spells, letting you pull ahead of other players in value:

Trying to think of other chaotic effects - maybe Genesis Ultimatum ? You could copy the Ultimatum itself, plus any creatures that ETB from it you could make copies of, too.

You mentioned reworking your Riku deck with Sakashima at the helm - did it become mono-blue or did you use the new Sakashima partnered with someone green/red?

Hey hey sorry it took so long to get back to you. I paired her with Tana, the Bloodsower and that was interesting.

I picked up the quandrix and prixmari precons and gotta say they seem to break down Riku into his two halves pretty well. One is basically spellslinger and the other creature copies and they both have a lot of support. Played both separately and really like the way they play, wondering if you had gotten your hands on them yet and if you were incorporating them into Riku.
