It is conditional and requires a mono-black or duel-black opponent, but a card I always sideboard in green in Reap , for only two mana this has been a game-changer for me on many occasions. I have a lot of Golgari and Orzhov in my meta.

TheDeckMaker2300, yep, Sigil is exactly unable to fit on this list for that exact reason.
thrane, actually one of the inspirations for this list was to showcase that paying 3 mana to recur one card as being a pretty bad rate of return in comparison to everything that's available, notably Regrowth. Outside of synergies with ETB creatures (which means that E-Witness would be a card that would be good based on the commander strategy specifically, like Ancestral Statue in Animar, Soul of Elements, although not quite to that extreme), Regrowth will always be better since it's 1 mana cheaper.
Oak_Guy I've been considering cards like Reap that only work against certain colors. I'm still on the fence for all cards except ones against blue/islands, because of how common blue decks are, but I'll keep Reap in mind. Thanks!

Yawgmoth's Vile Offering While expensive it is creature or planeswalker recursion and removal as well. I think that effect is worth its cost.

From every single card on your list
The most iconic land recursion card is missing
Crucible of Worlds and somewhat the magus version Ramunap Excavator
If they break I rule I do see it from the list

thewhere, Cavalier fails under the fifth point under "What this doesn't include" in the description. An effect like that would have to cost 3 to fit on this list.

Including the White Cavalier but not the Green & Black ones seems... counter-intuitive.
Yes, I've read the rules.

Nissa, Vital Force is a more immediate and more diverse version of Cavalier of Dawn
Also Tamiyo, Collector of Tales would be even cheaper/faster and even more diverse.

It probably seems like I'm not a huge fan of this list. I am super appreciative of your efforts here and will use this resource often.
Thank you

thewhere, oh wow, thanks for catching the white Cavalier! I must have misread the mana cost, because it doesn't meet the parameters either. Removed it, AND Spellpyre Phoenix (same problem). Sorry about that! I know it can be frustrating to see double standards, but I promise it was just a mistake!
Anyways, Lurrus seems perfect, thanks!

arcane_trouper, while it's a great tutor, it's actually pretty poor for fulfilling recursion as a primary purpose, since it's basically a two mana Disentomb when it's used for recursion.

griffstick, to be fair, green is probably the best color for recursion, so if anything, the bar should be higher for green. There are a plethora of green cards that can recur a creature from your graveyard for 2 mana, but all of them give you strictly more value/versatility. That could be returning any card (Regrowth), returning multiple creatures (Survivors' Bond), or both (Reap).
So as a tutor, it's great (and it's on my tutor list!), but as recursion, there are just too many options that are way better.

I hear you but to define it as a Tutor and not recursion is like saying Gisa and Geralf cant be your zombie tribal cmdr because they are not zombies
Its clearly both recursion and tutor, but mostly a tutor. I get it, it's not that good classified as recursion but the added tutor does make it a good card
Let's not forget that if X is 10 or more it can become a win con

griffstick, the tutor part of it is fantastic! The recursion is not as great. If you are looking at the recursion list and not the tutor list, then you probably don't want it.
