Welcome to Calix Creature Control. Your creatures are going to be here for a very long time.

Now, Calix isn't a very powerful planeswalker. But he has tools that are useful to our strategy. He isn't actually our win condition, as his ultimate shuts off his second ability. We actually want to use his second ability as we get to control our opponent's creatures more and more.

So, let's go over all of our tactics found in this deck. I've defaulted the category to custom so you'll know what I'm talking about. Each category will be explained in these panels.

We control our opponent's creatures by imprisoning them with our enchantments. It can also be other permanents. We also have cards such as Ghostly Prison which stops stragglers from attacking us. I have also included Calix, Destiny's Hand who can stack prisons upon prisons upon prisons using his -3 ability, or search for more prisons and card advantage through his +1 ability.
Card Advantage is important. Especially in Control. Having more resources to control your opponent is important, and it's what Selesnya does best as green cards commonly reward you for playing enchantments by giving you more cards for some reason. You thought green hated enchantments? Well, they DON'T! THEY ACTUALLY HATE ARTIFACTS YOU FOOL. So by controlling the opponent, you're actually creating card advantage, and the only time you lose card advantage is by playing these cards, playing lands, or casting Calix, Destiny's Hand.
The win con. These cards help you win the game. Pretty simple.
To battle against burn we have Leyline of Sanctity and Herald of the Pantheon.

Cards that attempt to lock out your opponent's creatures exclusively will not always work. Oblivian Ring is here to help.
