More focus on instant/sorcery control —May 23, 2021

I've made quite a few changes to the deck to focus more on instants and sorceries to trigger Quintorius, to ideally play a controlling game while eventually building a spirit army, with the Angelic Renewal combos as a backup. Just looking to make tweaks from here to lower the average CMC and hone in on exactly what the deck wants to do. Thanks to everyone for the help and big thanks to SaffronOlive's list!

Mcat1999 these are good suggestions! Thank you! I haven't gone through and added a removal package yet since I usually just slam whatever white removal is sitting around, but Generous Gift is too on flavor to ignore.

Looks like a fun list wanted to get your thoughts on some card idea's I had for your deck.

Colfenor's Urn has a cool interaction with the trigger and looks like you have enough triggers to make it work.

Crook of Condemnation , Relic of Progenitus , Scrabbling Claws , are all cool cheap ways to trigger your commander. You probably don't want to get rid of a lot of your cards in your graveyard, but you have a lot of looting so you can just exile your lands for the free 3/2's. Additionally, you can also just use them as graveyard hate for opponents as well.

Gift of Immortality and Boonweaver Giant double up on the sun titan angelic renewal combo, and synergize really well with it.

Cloudchaser.Kestrel Thanks for the suggestions! I considered Gift of Immortality but I'm not just gunning for the combo ASAP (or this would be a Bell Borca deck probably) so I'd rather just run the tutors to find Angelic Renewal . Boonweaver Giant is interesting though since it goes and tutors the enchantment as well, so I'll pop it in the maybeboard and see whether I can fit it in.

VampRamped Thank you! I don't want to load up on self-exile unless it can play the card too, since I can't actually mill that many cards at a time, but I probably should run Relic of Progenitus since it's a good rate.

What is a Bell Borca deck?

Cloudchaser.Kestrel I just mean Bell Borca, Spectral Sergeant would probably be the commander, since he gives card advantage.

Nice catch with your combo's, my version is just general good stuff on a budget An Elephant Never Forgets.

Also I noticed you have 2 Cathartic Reunion by the way

This looks awesome. Have you considered Desecrated Tomb ? Having (pesudo) redundany for Quintorius seems important. Other cards to consider: Myr Retriever , Scarecrone .

I love the interaction between your commander and Yidaro, Wandering Monster . This is a beautiful case of thinking out of the box, veeery cool.

I don't know how much combo-ish stuff you want to put in the deck. So forgive any of the following suggestions in case they are not in theme or style for the deck. I just wanted to point out some synergies you could use in case you wanted to add them to the deck.

Adding Gift of Immortality to the deck can provide recurring protection as well as more graveyard triggers. You can also use it as a recursion engine with any creatures with ETB abilities. Combined with Sun Titan and Ashnod's Altar you can get Infinite colorless mana, Infinite ETB/LTB triggers and infinite sacrifice and death triggers.

Adding Fiend Hunter to your Sun Titan and Ashnod's Altar provides infinite sacrifice and graveyard triggers as well as infinite colorless mana. The hunter by itself is useful removal.

The last one is good for repeated table wipes of permanents. You can combine Oblivion Stone with your Sun Titan and keep wiping stuff out over and over again as needed.
