I have been playing this deck online with a lot of success. I still need suggestions for a sideboard though! Please help if you have any ideas.Grixis Control
spudking12, 13 years ago
Ok no creatures? No problem! That's because your opponent should have them! The way the deck works is to counter/kill anything you don't want hitting the battlefield. Then, once you have a mind control or Nicol Bolas, it's time to let stuff happen. Take your opponent's creatures and start smackin em with them! The snaps are in there to recall sweet counter spells and stuff. And if worse comes to worse burn your opponent with the Zenith! Thanks for viewing! Oh, and if you liked it +1

Sideboard Changes
chappelle010894, 13 years ago
About two days ago, I was tweaking Solarflare and realized that most of the players I play with use a lot of infect decks and to change the deck itself to counter infect would not be a good idea. So i made a minor change to the land section and removed 1 Swamp and threw in a Woodland Cemetery and a Melira in sideboard to counter the infect chances. I haven't fully tested this deck yet against an infect deck but since I am running legendary creatures I mean why not? I run one green mana source and if she goes to the graveyard then I can always Unburial Rites her at will without even worrying about paying a green mana.

The Combo
Draygo, 13 years ago
I actually pulled it off the other night - I've since moved some cards around still technically in the testing phase on this one - Izzet comes out and I've got a Desperate Ritual in hand with a Lava Spike. Two lands down on the board and 1 in hand. My next two draws, sure enough were lands as well but the last was a forgotten cave. I was playing against the Moldy Richard deck with a friend and he seemed a bit starved for mana, but had some things starting to happen for him but I was able to pull it off the next turn burning him into infinity. Check out: http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Discussion.aspx?multiverseid=96966 for the combo explanation. It may not be new to most of you, but it is to me, and I like it! Anyway back on point, I've got some Stitch In Times and some Krark's Thumbs on the way to hopefully buy this deck some more time during play and win more flips. I'm currently winning about 20% of the games I play, not good. If I can get this deck to win 50% of the time I'll be happy (it is a coin flip deck after all.)
Jund
snotskie, 13 years ago
Originally was running BUG colors for a little extra countermagic, but Jund just has so much more to offer for my toolbox, like Falkenrath Marauders and Charmbreaker Devils.

I've gotten back into legacy/casual play, so I updated the decklist with some stuff from new sets, and some classic alterations.

a new card released by wizards named "Drogskol Reaver" looks absolutely insane in a blue white control deck such as this... It's a 7 cmc 3/5 which seems really bad but it has flying, double strike, and lifelink, but the ability that almost breaks this card is whenever you gain life, draw a card.. which is insane. I say this because its base card draw is the same as consecrated sphinx but with cards like pristine talisman and timely reinforcements, it could be netting on average probably like 4 cards and all at instant speed. I think this is the best kill condition for control to date and will most likely be including that as a one of in this deck.

I moved some stuff around and went full aggro on this deck for the sake of speed and pressure.
Update 1: Outside input
jheide, 13 years ago
Updated as per recommendations from other players. Will use current configuration as test-deck in next session.
Complete Remake

Completely restructured the deck to make it aggro instead of tempo.
Lands changed + Perplex
Kciroj, 13 years ago
Thanks, so thats 4x Polluted Delta.
Took out Haunting Echoes and Twincast for 4x Perplex.
Didn't really know that card, but it can help me getting a Mind Funeral if i dont have to counter.

Minor Changes
dimreality6313, 13 years ago
I added 2x Brimstone Volley because it has good synergy with Furnace Scamp and whatever I target Infernal Plunge with.
I swapped out Goblin Fireslinger for Goblin Arsonist for a bonus on the morbid trigger from Brimstone Volley after playing Infernal Plunge. Also, Goblin Arsonist is a fun early game staller and can target more than just a player.
I also added Fling for a later game option and to combo with a beefed Immolating Souleater. Plus, I can toss one of my 4/4 mountains made by Koth of the Hammer for a surprise hit.

Green Scales
thur, 13 years ago
I'm adding Sword of War and Peace to the mainboard and Sword of Feast and Famine to the sideboard. When I built this deck I intended to put Swiftfoot Boots on my Primordial Hyrdras to protect them. That turned out to be way too slow. With the swords getting them on the Primordial Hyrdras will be great but it'll also be great equipped to any other creature. Swinging in on turn 4 with a Birds of Paradise equipped with a sword will be hilarious.

Mimic Vat
Grogian, 13 years ago
I really feel like Mimic Vat would be strong in this deck. I'm just not sure where to fit it in.I Removed Sphere of then Suns in favor of Solemn Simulacrum although I feel like it might have hurt the curve. I'll be running a version of this deck at Friday Night Magic, I'll see how that goes. I do not have Solemn Simulacrum or Woodland Cemetery, so I will be using sphere of the suns.
Sideboard Help

Given the current metas around atm im a little lost as to what to include in my SB, Please help! post some comments if you can XD
Draygo, 13 years ago
Still messing around with this deck trying to get it right. I've found that when I clash with my opponent. I'll often put the flip cards on the bottom. Booby Trap is way too tough to pull off with this deck too. I may add some card draw into the mix because so far I'm not moving through them fast enough to get much done.
