This seems like the dumbest fun control deck

Lol sorta magwaaf that's kinda why I enjoy it as must as I do. If your not gonna tap out to draw cards or playing combo pieces then just blow something up!

Should replace Path to Exile with Prismatic Ending. Destroying your opponent's land then giving them back lands with path is counter productive. Prismatic makes sense because you play 3 colors in lands + manamorphose for black and green.

I see where you are coming from edster however; typically this deck isn't focused on land destruction hence why I run more Liquimetal Torque over Liquimetal Coating.

Path to Exile is in the mainboard over Prismatic Ending because of its instant speed removal for high priority creature removal to survive long enough to execute a winning combo... I personally just have more or a aggro/prowess meta in mind.

Karn, the Great Creator might fit in here, since you could put 1x Liquimetal Coating in the sideboard and essentially tutor for it with his -2. His passive just lets you eliminate activated abilities when you make things into artifacts, and you can even land destruct (or anything 0 cmc) with his +1 since it will make them into 0/0 creatures. If you decide to go that route, you should put low cost silver-bullet artifacts in the sideboard as well.

For example, there's Damping Sphere / Grafdigger's Cage / Relic of Progenitus / Engineered Explosives which could all do well as wish targets and are just useful sideboard cards in general.

I think karn could be a good fit here...I was on the fence about him when I was building this; not sure if its fast enough... turn 4-5 I usually assume I've either won or lost already... I think I will playtest it and see how it goes... Thank you!

also worth noting is that Karn, the Great Creator + Liquimetal Coating is land destruction every turn (or anything else that is 0 CMC).

I think my thoughts on Karn, the Great Creator is that it's a "win more" card at 4CMC... when casting Felidar Guardian the intent is to combo off and win on the spot; where Karn acts as more of a control tool to hobble the opponents game plan. This deck is built as a glass cannon trying to draw and combo with maybe hitting the opponent with a removal/tempo spell before its over win/lose.

I think For Karn to shine here I would need more lands and more staying power with Snapcaster Mage and overall be more focused on control over combo.

I mean those are valid points, but Karn would serve as more of a distraction/enabler in my opinion. It would also give you access to "silver bullets" in game one.

I know 4 CMC is a bit high, especially considering it wouldn't help you until the turn after in most cases. I didn't actually notice how low your land count is, so I see how he wouldn't help you much currently.

Phyrexian Metamorph may be a solid option as a replacement for missing combo pieces, as it can basically act as a few different ones depending on what you are copying, since it also makes itself an artifact.

My only other thought would be to potentially splash green for cards to find your artifacts easier, since your combo relies on having 2. Ancient Stirrings would help with that a lot (also finds lands worst case). It would also help find artifacts you side in, if you decide to change up your sideboard a bit more.

I actually think you might really be onto something with Ancient Stirrings... split my current shock lands with Stomping Ground/Breeding Pool/Temple Garden to still be fetched...I am gonna playtest that thank you for the idea!

I'm not quite sure what html element you're targeting for the transparent panels, but

.well,
#deck-details {
  code stuff
}

Should make the panel with the deck title and hubs also be transparent.

.jumbotron {} can get the copyright stuff at the bottom of the page to make that transparent as well if you want.

@zapyourtumor yeah the code I use doesnt make the panels transparent (it certainly annoys me)... I got my code from Wihito and im just not savvy enough to figure out how to correct it without turning the page to poop.

I took your codeblock and moved it around in my edit page and it didnt seem to work.

What do you think about runnig Urza's Saga ? You can tutor Altar of the Brood and it provides you with an alternative wincondition.

February 22, 2022 11:37 a.m.

Icbrgr says... #15

Seems like that could fit in here... I'd have to study it a but closer to see how well it actually helps with comboing off... at a glance it seems like a "enters the battlefield tapped land" that can tutor Altar of the Brood 3 turns later (which honestly might be nice)...the middle saga only seems relevant if I've already went infinite with Felidar Guardian I think....thanks for the suggestion I'll playtest with it and play with some ratios!

Icbrgr says... #16

Or perhaps it can be an emergency chump blocker too?

February 22, 2022 12:12 p.m.

cyeRunner says... #17

It can be a chump blocker too, also since you have a good amount of artifacts you can use them offensively.
The big Problem of your deck is that it does nothing if Saheeli Rai gets removed from the deck with cards like Necromentia, Surgical Extraction or even "blocked out" with cards like Damping Matrix if you don't have an answer to that.
I recommend cutting 1x Mountain and 1x Sacred Foundry and test with 2x Urza's Saga and see if it works out for you.

February 23, 2022 5:25 a.m.

what are the liquidmetals for?

March 5, 2022 1:54 a.m.

Icbrgr says... #19

They are part of the combo enabler.. turn saheeli into an artifact and she can use her -2 on herself to make infinite alter of the brood triggers or just turn artifact removal spells into everything removal spells to help stall untill a wincon is met through alter of the brood or felidar guardian... deck description has more details if you are interested.

Why only 1 copy of Felidar Guardian?

October 12, 2022 4:04 p.m.

Icbrgr says... #21

Because felidar cost 4 mana it can be clunky... typically this deck goes for the mill wincon and adjust to those running something like Emrakul, the Aeons Torn.

This deck is so cool. Have you considered replacing the Remands with Reprieve? It's ultimately better since it will get around cards that cannot be countered while performing the same action.

September 10, 2023 2:23 a.m.

Icbrgr says... #23

Your probably right actually... I'll probably pickup Cast into the Fire as an option for this deck too while I'm at it... I honestly just didn't get any LOTR cards/packs. Next time I pickup singles I'll add them.

Question. How did you get the card text formatted like that?
