Need help ending the world

Modern Deck Help forum

So I've recently begun to play around with the idea of using one of my favorite combo cards of all time, Warp World. I loved the card when it was in Standard with Heartbeat of Spring.

Part of the reason I've been toying with the idea is Hidden Herbalists and Tireless Tracker. They offer more ETB effects that give lots of value and add to the consistency of casting Warp World.

Behold, my hilarious new brew:

The issue I've had has been speeding it up, while maintaining a healthy dose of recursion. One of the things I've noticed about this deck is how much Warp World functions like a giant Seething Song.

I'm thinking the deck needs a third color. Blue is my first choice because it gives Coiling Oracle and Spreading Seas. However, a strong case could be made for White or Black because then you have access to things like Horizon Canopy or Shaman of the Pack.

Has anyone else tried Warp World in Modern? How does it compare to decks like Tooth and Nail or Scapeshift?

Well it is 8 mana not 4 and wants you to have more permenants than your opponent on board so it isnt good versus aggro. And it is random so you might just whiff hard.

Scapeshift has a solid plan. Hit 8 lands. Win. It has the whole deck tuned to that plan with Bolts, Angers, Primeval Titan etc. Tooth and Nail can also try to do it with fewer permenants than Warp World asks for with rituals, tron lands, etc.

@LeaPlath: I think Warp World benefits from being able to win against Leyline of Sanctity, countermagic, and Aven Mindcensor compared to Scapeshift. I think I'll also have a transformative sideboard into Tooth and Nail.

I guess what I mean is with Warp World, you can play a lot of ETB effects and win just by playing value cards. You're basically Gruul Blitz or midrange with a card that can just win out of nowhere.

Still looking for advice on adding other colors, cards I overlooked, or strategies to borrow from the other big mana G/R/x decks.

But unlike Scapeshift etc the effect is symmetrical. Which means you need to ramp into the mana as well as having a bigger board presence and more permenants in your deck.

@LeaPlath: It's not really all that symmetrical, though. It's like casting Armageddon or Wrath of God. Sure it's for everyone, but it's not really for everyone because one person's deck isn't built around it. The Warp World player uses nothing but permanents. The opponent can be absolutely crippled if they're using planeswalkers, instants, or sorceries.

I'm not sure if you've looked at the deck I have posted yet, but several people have pointed out some tips I didn't list in the OP. Urabrask the Hidden will almost always end the game after a Warp World.
