Why are folks necroing a deck from last year and acting like folks are arguing now?

Also my 2 cents on Kykar is Kykar is weird. You want to be doing a lot of stuff Kykar likes pre and post casting Kykar so there is never a point you shift gears? Therefore you need to lean harder into it and play some meh cards so you can ramp up if you build around them.

I don't like Bethic as it just seems worse than Cursecatcher for the tempo. I like the idea behind Mimic but it being 3 mana makes it also a lot worse than Phantasmal Image IMO.

4 Reejerey always felt like a bit of a trap to me and I would suggest cutting to 2. Coralhelm Commander lets you fly over stuff and sometimes is a lord which is decent as an option and Harbinger of the Tides is a good bounce spells to vial in or play on your turn generally.

Also if you want to be more Boil proof but weaker to Blood Moon having Oboro and Minamo as island substitutes helps.

So Necroplasm will be killing your Experiment 1 and Scoozes way too often and I would suggest cutting. Vannifar is slow af because you arent running any of the chain. Necrotic Ooze has no targets and Kraj is expensive and do nothing.

I woukd suggest actually going Jund for Oozes. Cutting the mehness of Kraj and Vannifar you can play Bloodhall Ooze as a decent growing turn 1. You can then curve Bloodhall into Scooze into something else.

Also for removal you are better off playing Abrupt Decay as the main removal in modern with some Trophy. Pulse is a bit slow and doesnt clear enough. You can also get some more powerful removal like Bolt by going jund.

I am digging the idea but not overly sold on the Pestilence angle. I got the pieces for this so I might try giving it a shot cutting Pestilence for more midrange bodies. Angler and sumin non GY based.

How are you finding Fauna? In any deck I have played Fauna I have always cut her for another threat as opposed to a slower engine.

Would folks be intrested in some budget legacy deck articles? I am thinking of focusing each one around one of the iconic cards or pillars of legacy that are still affordable like Dark Ritual etc.

Very cool but can't say I am a huge fan of Ichor Wellspring and the singleton Goblin Cratermaker.

I would suggest Blood Moon but obviously that is so much weaker in Astrolabe Format. Personally tho I have played and liked Daretti and Chandra ToD as value engines that play into game plan and provide an alt win con.

It depends what angle you want to hit.

If you want to be semi aggressive you are looking at Rogues, Faeries, Ninjas, flash or similar. Maybe UB Aristocrats?

If you are looking at control then you have options but they might not align well with the format. You could do a mystical teaching tron type deck. You can have a more basic midrange deck with Tasigur as its main beatstick. You can play a good stuff pile of control cards and walkers using thopter foundry.

For combo you don't really have any options that is consistant. Maybe a weird Days Undoing/Narset lock deck or Reanimator?

I have explained why cards are good and why cards are bad like Ball Lightning. Ive told you some articles to read to improve your understanding. I have suggested cards and explained why this is just going to be slower and less consistant than modern aggro decks like 8whack or burn decks. All I offered was advice and information. If you are happy with this then you do you.

Painlands arent great in EDH. There are better options. And Urborg without a card to abuse it helps others more than you.

Bloom Tender and Faeborrow are OK but dont actually help as much as you think. Run harder to clear cards like talismans.

Avacyn is very win more. She doesnt help combos and you arent making a big enough board for her.

Altars Reap isnt good as it is just a draw 2. In EDH you can go bigger.

Cards like Shell and Satyr arent actually that useful. I have played a lot of karador and you do not want to pay it where you dump your entire deck to be a second hand. Better off playing more tactically.

I notice you have the Revilark/Sun Titan/Saffi combo. Is that the only one you are running?

Sword of Body and Mind, Light and Shadow and Truth and Justice have always been a little lackluster in my eyes. Sigiled Sword is a bit meh honestly. Hammer of Nazheem is the equipment you should be grabbing first 99% of the time so Darksteel plate is a little redunant. Explorers Scope requires a lot of set up for little pay off. Inquisitors flail is a bit win more. As is collosal hammer.

Krenko is a bit meh and Serum Visions is very low impact.

I would give the deck another pass over. You would defo benefit from a few more lands. Talismans over signets.

17 lands is not enough. You want to be at least 23 here. Remember lands can have effects that benefit you such as bojuika bog or cavern.

As for creatures. A lot of 1 ofs. Not many of the good vampires. Remember Hexmage kills walkers/ballistas/hangerback/hexdrinker. Gatekeeper of Malakir sacrifices which takes out infect critters or large men. Gifted Aetherborn is strictly better than Child of Night.
