Yep!:) —June 29, 2015

Since I'm not going to any tournaments soon, there's no reason for me to hide the actual deck (I wanted to be the one to win if I did haha)

Changed it up. This build rocks! (Punpunpun from my old version)

And comment clearing

I'm trying to think of decent black/red threats at 4 cmc for modern. Tomb stalker might not be bad, but also Desecration Demon might be worth a look over rakdos. I know he's epic and all, but he's much less conditional and is easier to cast. Maybe a 2/2 split to test them out. I like rakdos a lot, but 4x seems excessive. Ashcloud phoenix too seems pretty nice in this sort of deck actually. Also not sure why you have the psuedo mana dork in here. He's better off as a lightning bolt analogue, like lava spike or bump in the night. Maybe even a disfigure or two in the sideboard to be more interactive. OR if you're going for the cheap 1 damage to kill the opponent, Mogg Fanatic is fantastic if its modern legal, which I'm pretty sure it is. He's also flexible to take out your opponent's 1 toughness issues, like an otherwise unchecked Bob.

Also, I'd be intrigued to hear what you think about something like Gurmag Angler as a cheap beats delve threat. You play anger out of the sideboard, so ground should be kept relatively clear between that and bolts. He seems like a possibly underrated card in modern with all the fetches you use.

Oh, and how could I forget the Exava, Rakdos Blood Witch as a possible stand alone game winner for your 4 drop slot.

I don't run Desecration Demon because it didn't work in the previous meta, like they'd just sac and swing, so we'll see. 4 drops have to win the game, Rakdos, Lord of Riots is essentially a 3 turn clock than can ramp into Wurmcoil Engine. We can play him turn 4 even turn 3 I didn't list that yet. I do have a playset of desecration. I should have enough/right mana to cast rakdos and I have 12 enablers. Gurmag Angler is interesting, I may go 3-2 rakdos Wurmcoil for 2 of an awesome card we'll see but it plays well. Exava, Rakdos Blood Witch isn't going to win anything no offense. I am curious to see how Desecration Demon/Tombstalker play out in this modern

Ashcloud Phoenix is looking nice but not so oppressive as to warrant a auto include

Isntitizzet to answer your question/give my opinion Gurmag Angler seems too expensive at first, but he does have delve so it is possible to turn 2/3 him. At the end of the day I'd rather just play Tombstalker because of the evasion. Gurmag Angler would appear as a budget version but if you're running fetches, budget on this low caliber shouldn't be a problem. He also has so rakdos would like him

Oh also Olivia Voldaren, or Falkenrath Aristocrat might work. Two 4 cmc bombs that instantly affect board state. And yeah I said exhava because I forgot about these two vamps lol they're much better. Also, I think you're mostly right about desecration demon, but against some creature light decks he's pretty good. You can just anger of the gods to get rid of dorks and/or spirit tokens, and then he's unchecked. Gurmag angler is already making waves in modern apparently.

I haven't had a lot of success with Olivia Voldaren she has to wait 2 turn before we can steal their creature and that took me back too far. Falkenrath Aristocrat does have an immediate effect but without humans she isn't just a win. Rakdos, Lord of Riots is a win condition, he blocks Siege Rhino for days and pumps out our creatures. Gurmag Angler is a tank, and he's much better suited for bg/x Rock builds from the discard, but now with Tasigur, the Golden Fang he most likely won't see play outside of mono black. I do appreciate the help man maybe check out the top of the description I'm tweaking stuff:)

I would switch out Manaforge Cinder for Simian Spirit Guide for a turn 2 win.

I have considered Simian Spirit Guide but I can try it out, it seems to only be super useful to put out a creature out quick and if the creature is removed weve lossed 2 cards, but still possible

Hey man, I don't have much advice to give you with a combo deck like this, but I do like the idea! Thanks for stopping by my deck as well.

If you were considering a splash, Huntmaster of the Fells  Flip is a nice four drop. Also falkenrath doesnt need humans to be effective. It still cant die to bolt or terminate so long as you keep it well fed.

Eretoryi it's aight man no problem!

Isntitizzet true true. But cutting rakdos we wouldn't need all the burnish guys thus dropping our consistent damage for Master of Cruelties. By that I mean we wouldn't need to run 4 Gut Shot without rakdos or Manaforge Cinder. Man making a competitive archetype is hard lol
