Teferi, Timebender (Altered)

Standard Control WU (Azorius)

Michael_Winters1996

This deck uses the pre-made Teferi, Timebender deck as a basis. I give a lot of credit to the "Affinity for MTG" Youtube that gave me most of the mechanic updates for this deck. I altered a few things about his decklist but really enjoy playing the deck without having it be OP. It's mainly from Dominaria since that's the set the deck was from but I also have some random cards throughout it that I threw in on a whim. Feel free to use or reach out with friendly advice.

2 more land put in for either the familiar or amulets, in no way does this deck want to miss land drops your chances of winning plummets if you miss one from turn 1-4, you also only have 6 cards that turn on the amber, in most cases it's likely just a free artifact to trigger historic matters. now that's about all I can suggest for getting it functional. A couple spells with "draw two cards" in it's text box probably wouldn't hurt to consider, or maybe get another two niambi, be a card draw that also increases that amber's consistency in being active.

Demarge thanks for the advice. I might look at just taking out mox cuz I rarely use it and when I do it's mostly for traxos or just to simply untap him which is kinda wasteful. I originally had a full 24 lands but after a lot of play-testing I consistently drew way too many lands and not enough other spells making me creature tapped. Because of the Traveler's Amulet I'm able to still get my lands out pretty effectively I've seen. I might look into the "draw two" function with cards like Divination and so on but I've seen more success with cards like Opt just with mana and whatnot. Any thoughts on that?

Now I do have to admit it is rather hard to give advice on the newest of players decks, but when deckbuilding I do often suggest people read this article as it's rather useful, quite often I lack the cards and budget to fully build a deck I want, so I often use that article as reference to eyeball a close approximation to the deck I want from what I have at the time. it also covers why I suggested you run more land (even with amulets).

as for divination, yes I think having a couple in addition to the opts would be good.

Now finally for a casual deck in green you might enjoy trying out A big pile of green, it's a deck I built for a college playgroup 6 years ago...(am I getting old?!) I built it purely to show that playgroup building powerful decks (it was built with 3+ multiplayer in mind) could be done at a budget lower than a starter deck (though back then triumph was under a buck, hard to imagine I could use a swagtusk instead and be lower on the budget).
