The goal of this deck is stall until you get counter magic up. Then use the card drawing artifacts to keep the cards flowing and bounce stuff back while the Owl eats at their life total. Essence Scatter is cheap, buys me time, and gets rid of a creature. Elixar of Immortality is a great card and recycles all of our spells. It also buys me time and is a great one drop. Evacuation and AEtherize clear the board of creatures. AEtherize in particular is great because it comes down turn 4. Evacuation is the reason I run 24 lands to make sure I have 5 mana to cast it by the 5th turn. The side board is meant to deal certain match ups. For instance Negate is useful against control. Against aggressive decks I'll sub out an Elixar of Immortality for Vapor Snag. Against control decks, I'll sub out Evacuation for Traumatize and Essence Scatter for Negate.

Eye of Nowhere helps we deal with other non creature permanents.
