Dominaria nonsense —April 19, 2018

This new set has given me two new toys to play with!!

Helm of the Host is a far more evasive and abusable Progenitor Mimic most of the time because I can utilize it the turn it comes down and breaking the legend rule is always fun with Rhonas the Indomitable and Prime Speaker Zegana. For added silliness I can use Mirage Mirror in response to removal and still use it the turn it hits, so most of the time ill at least get one copy (and for colorless mana that I can stockpile for no less). De-legending Newlamog and a few others allows me to Rite of Replication the token and make 5 non legendary copies with haste...which allows for huuuuuuge swings or insta mill win.

Naru Meha, Master Wizard is extremely versatile in this deck on her own, regardless of spell recursion loops and Panharmonicon / MImic Vat abuse. She can be protected and recurred with Riptide Laboratory really well and there are a few things I want her to do in here:

1) Cackling Counterpart / Rite of Replication targeting a nonlegendary creature (lets just say Greenwarden of Murasa) + Panharmonicon + Naru Meha, Master Wizard

Gives you two additional copies of the original spell, allowing for infinite copies of the original target and a new naru to be made ad naseum. Can be done at instant speed to create an infinite army for the next turn for a win or return your entire yard to your hand

2) Any 2 legal targets + Ghostly Flicker + Naru Meha, Master Wizard

Nets you infinite mana/ infinite etbs of desired creature. Add in Sunscorched Desert to outright ping everyone down.

Since I am taking out my only method of no restriction creature tutoring, I don't feel as bad putting an infinite win con in since both outcomes require 3 cards, a board state, and the right timing to get away with it. She is too darn versatile in this deck not to run her, but the infinite potential is just gravy.

Merfolk Trickster seems well worth the testing. Funny with Mimic Vat, copy effects, flicker effects, etc. A nice 2 drop flash response bear seems almost too good to be true. The non sleep tap effect might not be strong enough, but turning off a strong on swing ability or activated ability for 2 mana can make or break certain matchups.

tatovya, benthic druid (https://www.mtgsalvation.com/cards/dominaria/34346-tatovya-benthic-druid) seems like an extremely aggressive Sunder companion at best and replaces the lands I get from deep draws late game while gaining me decent life. Should be able to find room for her, but will test quite a bit before she is assure the slot.

Dominaria has a lot of fun so far!
