Currently the #1 Jarad Deck on Tappedout! —Oct. 27, 2016

Thanks for making this deck #1! The others aren't far behind so please make sure to help me out with a +1 if you like the deck! I appreciate all the feedback and suggestions. Let me know if you see any new cards that you think will make this deck better or cheaper.

Hey everyone! I need some suggestions from the last 2 sets. I don't know the last 2 sets very well and I'm sure there is some awesome budget cards that are flying below the radar. Any recommendations are greatly appreciated.

Traverse the Ulvenwald was in your budget for a while, but has been slowly creeping up.

Behold the Beyond is a combo deck's wet dream of a tutor, and it's sitting at a dollar.

Corrupted Grafstone is a nice mana rock for graveyard decks that gives you a turn 3 Jarad.

Crawling Sensation and Vessel of Nascency can self mill.

Cryptolith Rite has been dropping, so it might end up in your price range if it's an effect you want.

Deathcap Cultivator is a mana dork that likes graveyards.

Drownyard Temple can ramp from your graveyard.

If Eldritch Evolution and Grim Flayer ever drop in price they'd probably be good here.

Splendid Reclamation is enormous ramp in graveyard decks, and the price could go either way.

In general though, I noticed you have very little in the way of self mill for a deck that's so graveyard based. Hermit Druid is only about $2 and is phenomenal, and even if that's too expensive there are some great, cheap self mill cards like Nyx Weaver, Satyr Wayfinder, Undercity Informer, and Splinterfright you could use. As well as some great cards that play well with them, like Dread Return and Morgue Theft.

Hope that helps.

@sonnet666: Thank you so much for the comment! I've finally found some time to update the decklist but I'm still making tweaks here and there. Anything in the maybeboard could make it into the main deck. I'm currently trying to figure out if I want to replace all the basic land cards in the deck so I can combo off with Hermit Druid or keep the basics...

You're welcome.

I don't think combo'ing out with Hermit Druid on a budget is the greatest idea. Budget non-basics tend to come in tapped, so replacing all the basics will probably slow you down a lot. If you just keep the basic count low (what you have now is fine), Hermit Druid acts as an excellent yard-filler that gets you to your combos faster and ensures you keep hitting your land drops. Maybe replace 2 basics for Evolving Wilds and Terramorphic Expanse since they'll lower your basic count and thin your deck of basics when you play them.
