Tuning (Part Tres) —Dec. 19, 2019

Too many changes, I've lost track.

Here she is now in her current, magnificent state. I'm quite happy with the results so far. Playtesting is now needed to determine if the changes are optimal.

I think since I'm still testing out my deck, I'm learning how to pilot it. Keeping hands to see how it plays out, instead of mulliganing for what I need.

No trouble. It takes a bit of learning for sure. What I usually look for is a source of ramp, a few lands, and an Enchantress to get my card draw going, then I trust the heart of the cards to deliver the rest.

idk if you've previously swapped it out, but if you decide to keep Zenith, how do you feel about also including Dryad Arbor ? That way Zenith can act as CMC 1 ramp.

This deck speaks to me on so many levels. I've always wanted to build a deck that wins off the back of Squall Line and Elderscale Wurm , but the only commander I really considered running was Selvala, Heart of the Wilds . I never actually pulled the trigger though because Selvala is too hated. Seeing Nissa used in this capacity is interesting.

Would City of Solitude or Dosan the Falling Leaf fit into this deck? They seem useful when you want an uninterrupted Hurricane .

Out of curiosity, what is Painter's Servant 's role here? Is it to make your specific color hate cards more flexible?

Same questions that above Diddy has.

Thoughts on adding Maze of Ith ? It can make infinite mana with Argothian Elder ? Its not useless on it's own because it can protect your flipped Nissa as well. The infinite green mana can be used in either Winding Canyons , Helix Pinnacle or Squall Line .

How has Elephant Grass been performing for you? Perhaps it's time to cut the grass? Lol, but curious how it performs.

Not sure if you didn't see my comment from before regarding Beast Within , I'm surprised you're not running it if you're a control deck. I'm sure there were many times you needed removal in any matchup.

Hey there Hi_diddly_ho_neighbor, thanks for the comment. I'm glad this deck speaks to you and inspires you to play that combo out!

Regarding Dosan the Falling Leaf and City of Solitude , I've found that they get in the way more often than they help, as they are really apt to letting other players go off on their turns, uninterrupted... They're a bigger hindrance than aid.

Regarding Painter's Servant , it's a new addition and plays nicely with Compost , Lifeforce and Elephant Grass so it's currently in testing. Time will tell if it earns its place.

Hey Profet93, I think I did miss your comment/suggestion of Beast Within . It is a good choice now that I run more creatures to block with. I have added Maze of Ith back in, as I didn't know that infinite mana combo with Elder... Thank for that!

How has Elephant Grass been performing in your deck? I also just want to clarify that this mana is made during combat so it can only be used for instants and activated abilities.
