The Salt Road pt.2

On MTGA I named this one "Spew The Skew"

The future is now and it couldn't come soon enough! I played RDW hard during the former meta and despite certain smaller set backs it performed admirably. Then Ravnica Allegiance hit shelves. The new Domineering meta decks it created are unbelievable. I've never seen midrange and Control decks like these before in standard. I attempted to modify and adjust my own gameplay to find a way to keep my RDW deck relevant but the truth was that it just couldn't keep up anymore.

With the latest set, Ravnica Allegiance, it seemed that Red mages needed to learn humility. Not content with taking a back seat to other Meta decks and with a burning desire to let efficiency prove itself as my opponent's downfall, I began my research. It has lead me down many paths so far. I wish I could even say that where my deck stands now is even near where it will stand when I finish but as the meta evolves so must the players.

Enter Standard Mono Red Burn. The new set didn't completely ignore red players, in fact it may have just as well brought us our greatest weapons yet. Light Up the Stage and Skewer the Critics are two incredible toys that bring ultimate efficiency close within our grasp. All it takes is pain and the main phase. Some may say that main phase is a lot to ask of a red player and I'll leave my answer in the form of a quote:"The hardest choices require the strongest of wills."

I will update with more relevant data later. Until then please stay posted and give me whatever feedback you can!

This deck was inspired by work done by reddit user 'ADustedEwok'. My finished product is now separate from his own, as some of the ideas he proposed turned out to feel less then viable. I still believe that his setup is worth experiencing for yourself.

This is the full article: https://www.reddit.com/r/MagicArena/comments/an357n/standard_real_mono_red_burn_part_2/ PLEASE READ IN ITS ENTIRETY!!! SO IMPORTANT. If you are a red mage or just respect the format find some time and read it all.
