This deck is designed to offer both a good roster of fast, effective creatures while also also giving you plenty of answers to threats and a solid core combo.

In terms of creatures, you have Drana, Mardu Strike Leader and Smothering Abomination all applying pressure on the board. This is backed up with Duress, Horribly Awry, Transgress the Mind and Nullify giving you strong card advantage and control.

Finally, the combo, which simply helps you to get more cards into hand for more answers and creatures. Use these to continue locking down the board through pressure and counters.

It does this by using Bloodsoaked Champion as sacrifice fodder, allowing you to use Vampiric Rites as many times as you can afford to. By playing Zulaport Cutthroat to buff damage and lifegain and/or Smothering Abomination to buff card draw you will effectively be spending just 4 mana to draw two cards, deal one damage and gain two life. This gives you good sustain during the mid to late game.

You do however need to attack each turn to make sure you can recast Bloodsoaked Champion.You'll want to sacrifice him just as blockers are declared.
