Who doesn't love a good bit of synergy when it comes to deck building. I thought that this deck would be a fair amount of fun to play in addition to having a relativly unorthodox approach to control.

If you wish to leave suggestions below please suggest which cards I should replace them for, and if you like the deck feel free to +1 Upvote and Follow for future content additions.

this deck is amazing, with very few bad matchups. amulet bloom, tron decks, rdw, boggles scapeshift and living end in particular, namely decks that need no creatures to beet your face in. and you have an easy solutio to those types of decks: side in hand disruption, Leyline of Sanctity and maybe even some forced sac and mass enchantment/artifact wipe.

my only concern us the gideon's avenger, which seems really greedy for what this deck is trying to do, he's big and scary but still easy to race kill or disrupt. I think a safer place for a long range deck like hits would be with

Roar of the Kha which interacts well with lawkeeper, king macar, royal assasin, sunblast angel and weathered wayfarer(ever stacked wayfarer triggers before? pretty silly)

Mortify instant speed kill is great, and when added to the liege we're talking an easy 2 for 1.

Pain Seer definitley no bob but he'll serve you well in the same way macar does, he can easily be tapped safely or swing in when the cost is clear and gain incredible value for you. If you ran this I would go 2 of him, 2 roar.

Thank you very much for commenting, I honestly did not know of Roar of the Kha it does synergies beautifully with my set up.

May I suggest Imposing Sovereign? Easily works with Royal Assassin to make sure every creature the opponent plays is destroyed.

How much have you playtested this deck? Have you just goldfished or played against any opponents? I like the idea and it seems very fun. Looks to be very strong against creatures in general.

Land count seems a little low, even with Weather Wayfarer. I don't see anything beneficial lands to tutor up in the early game. He seems better for tutoring Vault or Nyxkthos mid/late game. Maybe throw in a few more lands and reduce the wayfarer count to 2 or 1? You could also run a Ranger of Eos package. That would give you an excuse to run singleton 1 drops and try/see if there are any other good 1 drops that could fit into the deck. It also makes your Orzhov Charm a little stronger.

I have play tested this deck extensively and you are correct it does wonderfully well versus creature decks, but sadly falls flat versus control which is to be expected. I don't run Ranger of Eos as there are few 1 drop creatures that help me toward my goal in this deck. As for mana I could perhaps use more however in play testing I rarely run into mana problems as my Weathered Wayfarers usually take care of me.

@Clokkwork I don't use Imposing Sovereign as I already use Blind Obedience and have found that once I get 1 of them out any other card like it becomes useless.

how does Sunblast Angel preform? I feel that with it being a 6 drop it is a dead card for a long time, and it is kinda redundant with the assassins and the lieges. I might consider some other strong black and white cards that will trigger both of lieges abilities. maybe Athreos, God of Passage, just because he is strong and 3 life might be the tipping point for your creatures. force your opponent to question their value. or maybe Castigate, to control things that aren't creatures. Tidehollow Sculler for the same reason. I also wonder if Path is redundant. I mean it is a great card, but in a deck that is designed to perpetually kill creatures do you really need more cards to kill creatures? I think it would better serve you to have more cards to protect your engine or keep you alive until you are set up. Sun Titan might be good to bring you guys back these changes also might help agianst control match-ups

@Zer0w I agree with you about Sunblast Angel in most situations i find that by the time to do get her out (which given my devotion to white can be as early as turn 4) i often do not have enough major threats that warrant her use. To that end i will replace her with 2 Athreos, God of Passage to add a bit of protection to my engine. As for Path to Exile i run this card because of how weak my start up is. You see for the most part my deck begins its "tapped" creature destruction on turn 3 A-4 which leaves me vulnerable to early aggression this is why I run so many early removals as it allows for a domineering early field control that allows for my mid game engine to come online. As for your suggestions for hand disruption via Tidehollow Sculler or Castigate i find that tidehollow is a bit weak in that they can get their card back if they desire, however I do feel that castigate could be viable so I will drop my Roar of the Kha in favor for some. As always thank you everyone for your comments :D.

Maybe try Intrepid Hero

@VEO I feel that my assassin fills that role well. That and I have plenty of removal in deck already.

Eh it just went with your theme. Marble Titan might be more interesting though. Especially for those pesky hexproof creatures.

I need to add a side board but for dealing with hexproof creatures I would use Glaring Spotlight

Before I tell you a bunch of junk you might not care about, are you trying to build a tournament ready deck or something to play with friends? Also you should cut the Lawkeeper because it has no synergy with Blind Obedience.

January 7, 2016 1:02 p.m.

ArchFline says... #21

This is a fun deck as, in competitive play, this would only win versus creature based decks and given that blue dominates competitive this deck falls flat for reasons I'm sure you can see. Additionally Gideon's Lawkeeper is core to the deck as it does not require synergy with Blind Obedience because it is essential to early lock down and a key component of the tap-destroy engine.

January 7, 2016 1:14 p.m.

Zer0w says... #23

@ArchFline I gotta agree this deck need lawkeeper (or something to tap critters). it is an early game lockdown keeping you from getting hit and a mid game kill engine with Assassin. I am not sure why bromerta would suggest to take them out... sure this deck is not the most competitive, but no home brew is. if it was, it would no longer be a home brew it would be a tier 1 net-deck that runs all of the place. I do wonder, however if there is a way to make it better against non creature heavy decks.

January 7, 2016 1:40 p.m.

Zer0w says... #24

ok, here's a thought... nearly all of your creatures are humans so Champion of the Parish might be a coo beater. or maybe... just maybe Xathrid Necromancer. Avacyn's Collar might be good because you can attack with lawkeeper (without tapping) then pay and tap it to tap a blocker (I think... you may have to look into the rules to see if there is any time between declaring attackers and declaring blockers when you can tap a blocker) even if not it still might be good it will make killing your creatures not as attractive.

also most of your creatures are while so Honor of the Pure might be good to. though, Deathbringer Liege already does that for the mid/late game kill.

if you like any of these I might suggest that you take out a few Orzhov Charm and 1 Utter End (4 cmc makes it a dead card until mid game)

how well does Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx work? and is your deck to mana hungry to really make Vault of the Archangel useful?

Dawn Charm might be a good SB card.

good luck.

Zer0w says... #25

I just looked it up "After a legal attack is declared, the active player gets priority." so I think you would be able to attack and then use lawkeepers ability to then tap a blocker thus landing a hit.
