UW Acid Trip is a deck that abuses Reality Acid's synergy with bounce effects. When Reality Acid leaves the battlefield, the opponent sacrifices the permanent it is attached to. If you return it early with a bounce/flicker effect you can use the Acid again. This is primarily done in Pauper with Dream Stalker and Kor Skyfisher. Unfortunately, due to the popularity of both those cards in Jeskai Kuldotha and Acid Trip those cards are worth more than a penny. That didn't stop me from brewing however.

The Penny Dreadful version loses out on some of the better ETB creatures, but gains a powerful new Enchantment, additional synergies, and, of course, Mom.

Card Choices

Parallax Wave : The best card in the deck. This is a one-sided boardwipe, pseudo-bounce, and a protection spell in one. If you hold priority, exile their creatures, then bounce or flicker the Parallax Wave at instant speed it will permanently exile the targeted creatures. Remember on Magic Online to hold CTRL.

Emancipation Angel : A Kor Skyfisher that costs W more and has 1 more power.

Glimmerpoint Stag : A reasonable 3/3 body with a flicker effect stapled on.

Vedalken Mastermind : It bounces Reality Acid , Parallax Wave , and Alchemist's Vial for value. It can also act as pseudo-protection for your creatures.

Epochrasite : Often a 2 mana 4/4 in this deck between Glimmerpoint, Cloudshift, and Parallax Wave . Additionally, it must be exiled for the opponent to deal with it permanently.

Cloudshift: Protects creatures and rebuys ETB effects. When combined with Emancipation Angel or Glimmerpoint Stag, you can abuse Parallax Wave (see above).

Mother of Runes: Protects your creatures. Most importantly, the puny Veldaken Mastermind.

Alchemist's Vial: Primarily in the deck for the ETB effect. It is bounce and flicker fodder. Do not be afraid to sacrifice it to preserve your life total.

Reality Acid : The namesake of the deck. A slow card, but extremely versatile. It is often a repeatable vindicate in this deck. When it's clunky, it's extremely clunky however.

This is my first Penny Dreadful deck, so I haven't had a ton of experience with the meta yet. I can say with reasonable confidence that the deck preys on other creature decks, while in Game 1 will struggle against the Burn, Mill, and creature-less control decks. My sideboard is designed with that in mind.

If you want to play a deck with lots of synergy, micro decisions, and games where you feel like you're "going off"--I would recommend Acid Trip.
