Why Do So Few Decks Play Godsire

Currently I have an incredible modern deck that focuses around Godsire and usesZacama, Primal Calamity and Behemoth's Herald to get you there. Of course it also has very strong support from Sarkhan Vol and Vivien Reid. Why do so little go for this strategy? Here is my deckGodsire Will Win
Too many answers for a card that takes too long to get online. In a format where a lot of the high end decks are seen as not traditional ‘Fair’ magic decks that can consistently win by turns 3 to 5, you will be continuously out gunned by turn 3 trying to simply ramp into a overvalued Timmy card. I am a strong believer that if you like the card and want to play it DO IT, but don’t be surprised when opponents aren’t playing as ‘Fair’ a deck as you. In a format dominated by 0-3 CmC drops your more likely to play and enjoy the card more in a format such as EDH.

i think it is because people lile cheating Emrakul, the Aeons Torn and Griselbrand more.. just my 2 cents..
if you want to cheat godsire you can use cards like Dramatic Entrance. its much better imo..
or better yet use Time of Need for zacama and put it to playcwith dramatic entrance or Elvish Piper

It doesn't help that Behemoth's Herald is a pretty mediocre card. In theory, you can get it to work on turn 3 (Turn one Temple Garden + Behemoth's Herald; Turn 2 Mountain + Goblin Guide + Isamaru, Hound of Konda; Turn 3 activate ability and summon Godsire).
Fun if you pull it off, but let's look deeper at the deck. It would require you to play three colours and have a number of cheap creatures spread across those colours that you can pump out to sacrifice. This leads to a problematic curve as you try to ensure you have valid sacrifice fodder.
Even if you do pull it off, Godsire is nothing but a large body for the first turn it is in play, giving your opponents another turn to further their victory.
Compare to Emrakul, the Aeons Torn and Griselbrand, which user xaerusblade mentioned. Emrakul gives you an extra turn, has built in evasion, is protected from most removal, and has Annihilator 6. Even if you cheat it in and do not get the extra turn, you can be relatively sure it will survive to the next turn to close out the game. Griselbrand gives you seven cards right away, and can regain that seven life by being used as a blocker.

Also Quicksilver Amulet would be more reliable as a whole.
Just to clarify you have to sac 3 creature with your method, 1, 3 colored creature only counts as 1 creature even if it is all 3 colors.

The important thing though is that if you enjoy it, keep it up.

As mentioned, sinking that many resources and sacrificing multiple creatures only to get a single one without haste or tample in a format rife with single target removal is a feels bad. And since it has no inbuilt protection (unlike Emrakul, the Aeons Torn), no trample/evasion (unlike Siege Rhino), no immediate effect (unlike Griselbrand), it just sits there for a turn before it does anything. Then even when you finally can do something with it, it taps to make a token which has to wait a turn before attacking. The best way to make it work would be to ramp into a Tooth and Nail to get it and Xenagos, God of Revels but at this point, you could get any creature.
The other issue is that you're having to devote quite a chunk of your deck to making it work.
As has also been said though, if you want to make it work then go for it. But The reason that it isn't played is that it's just not efficient.

Dont get me wrong cheating an 8 drop out on turn 3 is pretty cool BUT it takes 3 creatures on the board as well as a 3 mana investment to cheat out a single creature that doesnt win you the game on the spot. Your literally just setting your self up to be 3 for oned in a format that has decks designed to win on turn 4 through hate and control/midrange decks that have access to 1 mana removal.
I would be interested in seeing your list though, post it if you get a chance!
