What to do with Sisay

Someone gave me the secret lair foil Sisay, Weatherlight Captain and after a few days of looking at edhrec and online builds I have to admit I have no clue what to do with her.

Legendary deck I saw seems to just mash in every Legendary those people found without much of a precise wincon or plan in mind.

I saw a few planeswalker build which looked fun but the stuff around the walkers was way too expensive for me.

And the last one was a shrine build but then I thought why would I build a Go-Shintai of Life's Origin deck without Go-Shintai in the command zone.

Anyone got tips on a descent budget (around 200-300$) deck? Had in mind a budget mana base with like 10-15 basic lands with basic land ramp and use stax stuff with cards like Back to Basics and Ruination to slow them down while I put my pieces in place.

Lots of creature board wipe if I have a planeswalker build.

Try picking a secondary color/theme with a significant number of legendary cards across all colors and working with that. With Sisay needing specifically, Angels could work work well, with other options off the top of my head being Dragons and Zombies. This will let you decide how tightly you want to hold to the theme and find any interesting synergies or subthemes without turning into generic five-color goodstuff.

My Sisay deck runs a politics subtheme, with legends like Arvad the Cursed and Urza's Ruinous Blast (notably not tutorable) to close out the game with. A surprising amount of legends do political things- Edric, Spymaster of Trest, Gahiji, Honored One, Selvala, Explorer Returned, etc.

It's all about finding a theme with a lot of legends and rolling with it in my opinion. That said, I am also a very casual player, favoring fun synergies over actually winning the game. Interpret my opinions with that understanding.

I saw a sisay deck win with Aminatou, the Fateshifter + Nicol Bolas, Dragon-God + Oath of Teferi combo

I had fun with this deck

Sisay's Bushido Samurai Style

Lots of legendary bushido types.

One take on Sisay I've seen a few times on here is having her be a Background voltron commander. It's kind of like a shrine deck but with backgrounds instead.

Inspiring Leader

Dragon Cultist

Raised by Giants

etc

Sissay can combo real easily and from having Jegantha, the Wellspring and 1 white mana on board can go into a full combo

I definitely agree with subthemes being a strong way to build around Sisay. You might be able to do Superfriends, along the line of the combo mentioned above.

If you have a little vorthos in you, then you could always build out a theme deck around fighting Phyrexians.

I did Sisay with a 5-color snow deck. Because why not? Definitely not the most synergistic build, but I've enjoyed it. I think I've added two 1-mana legends since I built it for Sisay's trigger (Instrument of the Bards and Yoshimaru, Ever Faithful.) I think my next Sisay build will be focused on hybrid mana. Because it's fun.

Do you want to build a snowman?

Superfriends is the way to go. Sisay can tutor up a series of planeswalkers that can give you infinite activations from all of your planeswalkers. Feel free to check out my Sisay decklist for ideas.
