Just saw a combo kill in Meren of Clan Nel Toth while looking over my decklist. The combo involves a persist creature (like Woodfall Primus) + Mazirek, Kraul Death Priest + Blood Artist or Zulaport Cutthroat + sacrifice outlet

if Mazirek, Kraul Death Priest was the general, the shenanigans get crazier (in most cases, woodfall primus+mazirek+sac outlet is enough)
Melira, Sylvok Outcast and Bloodspore Thrinax work for the counter part of the combo, and Puppeteer Clique is another fun persist creature.
blood artist and cutthroat do add a nice finisher piece to the combo , but creatures like Algae Gharial can also be fun

I mean, I'm in a meta hostile to infinite combos, so my infinite kill loop is wayyyy more convoluted: Living Death+Eternal Witness+Blood Vassal+Pawn of Ulamog+Sidisi, Undead Vizier+Lotleth Troll and any free sacrifice engine (in my deck, Viscera Seer, Varolz, the Scar-Striped, and Phyrexian Plaguelord). I would love to be able to run either of those combos. That said, the only "bad" cards in the deck because of the combo while not going off are Blood Vassal, which can ramp with Meren, and Lotleth Troll, which can help me cheat creatures into play with Meren. I do enjoy not having to run Blood Artist, Triskelion, Melira, Sylvok Outcast, or Mephidross Vampire, as those creatures are all pretty awful if you aren't going off.

I cannot see how your combo would work, you sac Primus, this triggers the counters, then persist triggers and returns the Primus, but it is too late to get a +1/+1 counter. so it re-enters with a -1/-1 counter.
So you really need 2 persist creatures in play for this to work, plus Mazirek, Kraul Death Priest, and whatever sac outlet you had available.

Persist and Mazirek triggers go on the stack in whatever order the trigger controller desires, as they both trigger at the same time due to no player receiving priority between a creature being sacrificed and that creature entering the graveyard. Relevant rule is Comprehensive Rules 603.3b, " If multiple abilities have triggered since the last time a player received priority, each player, in APNAP order, puts triggered abilities he or she controls on the stack in any order he or she chooses. (See rule 101.4.) Then the game once again checks for and resolves state-based actions until none are performed, then abilities that triggered during this process go on the stack. This process repeats until no new state-based actions are performed and no abilities trigger. Then the appropriate player gets priority."

Isn't that a Mazirek combo? Hashtag: due credit.
But seriously, Aerie Ouphes + Mazirek, Kraul Death Priest is easier to cast than Mikaeus, the Unhallowed + Triskelion , and makes all your other creatures infinite beaters at instant speed or at least Mazirek one if there is some other flier on the field.

I think Mikaeus, the Unhallowed + Triskelion is still easier, however.
No offense, but that's a lot of parts to make a combo work.
