Blood Moon? If you can't destroy their non-basic lands just make them mountains.

great deck! why not go full Strip Mine if you already have Crucible of Worlds? that way you can hit whatever you want.

I feel like you might want to mainboard Roiling Terrain so you have a good finisher.

Also, I completely agree with the Strip Mine suggestion above.

@Adameus: Darksteel Citadel(http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?multiverseid=397853)

Deus of Calamity + Burning Anger is one of the best combos I've used in a land destruction deck.

Modern Land Destro - Although its splash of white was for Ajani Vengeant it works well on the first match, after which, majority of my opponents have side-boarded against my spells.

Dark Ritual is NOT banned in Modern, its not Modern Legal, the last printing of it was Mercadian Masks block which was just before 7th/8th editions came out. It has been printed in other sets, but nothing within the Modern set listing.

Deus of Calamity + Burning Anger as well as Ajani Vengeant are far too slow for this mechanic. Ok, you could say that the overall gamespeed is reduced due to landdestruction, but this deck has enough recources to win. On the other hand, what would you personally take out for your suggestion?

Boomstick022 Dark Ritual is not modern legal. Either is Strip Mine c.mac

@Rakasha - Reread my statement about Dark Ritual.

@Xenkay - I honestly don't know what I would recommend be removed to add in Burning Anger, Deus of Calamity or Ajani Vengeant. Ajani Vengeant may be slow as a four drop but his base +1 alone is worth making your opponent think twice before tapping and attacking or tapping out with just three mana, knowing the probability that you have a land kill spell in your hand if not multiple versions of them. Both Deus of Calamity and Burning Anger are five drop cards, expensive yes, but again they can have multiple uses, Burning Anger just makes Deus of Calamity much better and direct damage, both are very good at getting a control deck to bluff and counter them, at least from what I've seen in my meta. I only ran two copies of each in my deck and only successfully got the combo out in two games when I played my deck in one tournament. Once you get the combo out by turn six if lucky and your opponent is still around, its usually over in a couple turns as its hard to not take six damage and lose a land.

Outside of this deck, have you considered a r/b deck with Sinkhole or Smallpox? They're pretty quick. I used something like that a while back with Bloodghast and a few other. Land destruction is great. +1 from me

there is a large flaw in this deck. Boom/Bust is a sorcery forcing you to take second

Hi,

This deck looses againts anything that's mono with 1/1 creatures. You put 150$ of artifacts so you can play lands from your graveyard? You are rich. You're not doing enough damage. Againts any well balanced deck, the gameplay will be longggg and boring. You will destroy land while doing no damage.

I was planning to do a destroy land deck, but MTG R&D do not recommend to do so since it remove the fun from the game.

A better strategy could be focusing on destroying only non basic lands balanced with any other damage strategy, which can do very good against strong expensive decks

Take care

Palastien

Mono black land destruction/discard works better.. Hymn to Tourach, Smallpox, Dark Ritual, Sinkhole...etc

@Its_Johnny_Bravo

The only card you just listed that is Modern legal is Smallpox.

I like the idea of 'pox, and would suggest Avalanche Riders. If you go multicolor, White gives you some good removal/the best sideboard options, and Flagstones of Trokair plays very well with Boom//Bust, as do fetches. (Target them, then sac in response.

@thearcherparadox Did you not see Simian Spirit Guide? Or Boom?

October 18, 2016 9:51 p.m.

I see it. But I don't gamble. And I don't combo. I like PURE mono construction. Preferably single color aggro.

The mana bounce deck I built got played until I found it was mostly a counter spell deck ...

So, I stopped playing it...

Spreading Seas is more reliable.

@thearcherparadox just because you don't agree with the playstyle of this deck, doesn't mean you need to dis it. and it doesn't mean that you need to go and say that the deck sucks or doesn't work.

Thing about magic is that there are many different ways to play the game, so you can play how you want to play and everyone else can play the way they want to play.

Wtf man. I never said anything negative. He asked if I saw/liked a card. I said no and explained why.

Don't read more than is there. Don't put words in my mouth. #donttrumpme

If you don't like Islands, then Boil or Boiling Seas is the way to go.

I just gave this an upvote and added it to one of my folders. I've always been a fan of land destruction as a strategy and I wanted to suggest you consider a combo that I used to crush opponents with back in the old days: Orcish Spy + Millstone. I didn't use it to mill (very often), I just used it to literally filter land and mana sources from the other guy's deck before he could draw them... Tap Orcish Spy, if the next card wasn't something that would disrupt my efforts, I let him have it. That combo would work even better than it once did with the cards currently available and would give you a strong option against mono-decks full of basic lands.

Turn one seems fine but how are you casting a boom on turn 2 with one land? DC is indestructible but if you sac it that doesnt matter. And i dont understand the ruling if its the only land
