Blushweaver: I definitely considered it! He's a lot of mana, but he's definitely in my sight... I really want to pull off that combo XD

GoldenGolgari: Thank you, this is turning out even more fun than I'd hoped so far... I'm glad it's something you like! :D

Hey, I like your list quite a bit. I used it as a baseline for mine. I've been testing a ton, I've cut most of the 'opponent discard' spells just because I don't personally find them fun, I've also added in a Cabal Coffers package, the deck is pretty mana hungry and with all the land untapping effects already it's been good for me.

SteveoWOAH: I think the only "opponent discard" one I'm still running is the Zubera. I considered Coffers, since Nykthos has been doing great work -- has it been hard for you to get enough Swamps to work?

Changes: Added Mirror-Mad Phantasm and Teardrop Kami, removed a Swamp and Unesh, Criosphinx Sovereign. Unesh gave massive value but didn't actually win, even when Encored. Teardrop Kami is another very powerful untap source -- I can't believe I forgot it until Awk0shi pointed it out, thank you again! Meanwhile, Mirror-Mad replaces Unesh with a better option: when cast normally, it's a powerful (if expensive) mill effect, and when encored it immediately mills my entire deck. Plus it's been a pet card since original Innistrad!

I might also run Necrotic Ooze in here, for the ability to steal Mirror-Mad's ability. We shall see.

Also running urborg and an expedition map, with the amount of cards we draw of things like blue zubera and the other tutors it's been getting online with reasonable consistency. I'm still unsure if I want the rest of the cabal package like deserted temple and vesuva, but I'm testing those now.

I like Ghostly Pilferer as a nice utility creature here. Also Riptide Laboratory could be useful. I may add Tortured Existence as a way to filter creatures out of my hand as well.
You’ve got Great ideas in here though. I like wake the dead and you’ve convinced me to add archaeomancer. I was going for a more etb value type build, shying away from combos and untap effectsbut I adore living death, it’s one of my favorite cards in all of magic and abusing it with archaeomancer sounds amazing!

I believe echoing Floating-Dream Zubera on its own only gets you 6 cards, because they are three separate sacrifice triggers. First zubera is sacced, trigger goes on top of the stack, sees one zubera dead; second one is sacced, sees two, etc.

smashadams83: I'm not opposed to Pilferer, but he was kind of disappointing in Vadrok. Why would he be better here? I'm glad to have inspired you, though -- I love Wake the Dead immensely in this kind of deck, to basically trigger ETBs from graveyard...

sheepdip: The Zuberas trigger when they die, but they "count" the number of Zuberas which died in total when the ability resolves. So if you sacrifice one (ability goes on stack), hold priority, sacrifice the next (before the first ability resolves), et cetera, you get away with a full count of 3 (or even 6) when each ability resolves!

btw Spoils of Evil and Bitter Ordeal might seem well in your favor

gdm1989: Hey, I've been well! Haven't seen you in a while, haha.

Spoils of Evil can only target opponents, unfortunately. I don't mill my opponents much in this deck, but Songs of the Damned (the reverse) is awesome here!

Apologies, I'm confused -- what are you trying to do with Bitter Ordeal here?

Yeah I been burned out with EDH for a while been into warhammer kill team lately or D&D. The reason for bitter ordeal was since cards will be hitting the grave via mill or combos, my theory is using that card to shut down opponent's key cards I might be getting the wrong idea. If so then do forgive me

gdm1989: Yeah, the only issue is that Bitter Ordeal doesn't count cards that are milled, unfortunately :(

Daedalus19876 - How do you tie out the 42 damage dealt at end of turn from Archfiend of Despair? I can only get to 24 to each player.

6 combat damage and 3 end of turn triggers for 6 = 24

nphunter90 says... #16

Never mind. I see the total life loss changes as each trigger resolves.

Deck seems really cool and pretty focused and refined. The only I noticed is you have 107 cards in the deck. What will you cut?

Daedalus19876 says... #18

cs83847: I'm, uh, working on that. The cards marked as Spanish-language are the ones I recently added, which I'm trying to find cuts FOR... Got any suggestions? XD

Would you consider running Underworld Sentinel? Also does Heartless Summoning help with Araumi and her ability?

November 18, 2020 8:17 p.m.

Daedalus19876 says... #20

super_steeb: Eh, Underworld Sentinel is cute, and I did test it, but it just didn't do enough for 5 mana honestly. Especially since it's pretty bad without Araumi.

Heartless Summoning does not help with Araumi's ability, but it's very solid to help us power out our higher-cmc reanimation targets very early! It also allows us to somewhat churn through creatures with an Altar, and often even GAIN mana off things like Peregrine Drake.

Thank you Daedalus19876! Was confused and needed the clarification. Big fan of this deck as well. Keep it up!

My brain hurts now, lol. I don't know if I have any suggestion that are more efficient than what you have. Things that come to mind are Creeping Dread and Cunning Lethemancer for more passive table discards that include you. You could also adjust some things and go the Deadeye Navigator infinite combo route, but that's really just to add another infinite combo to an already ridiculous list :).

Been building my own version of this in real life and wanted to ask, what do you think of Dire Fleet Ravager and Panharmonicon? Ravager just seems like a bomb to me (though it can put you dangerously low), and panharmonicon looks like it would trigger off a lot of stuff in this deck.

Daedalus19876 says... #25

super_steeb: Thank you, glad you're a fan :D

Squirrel_of_War: Honestly, there's not many tokens I overly care about keeping here -- most of the tokens I create are "one and done" kind of effects (with a few exceptions). I'm also working to make it less commander-centric in general.

sub780lime: I did consider the Deadeye Navigator combo with Peregrine, but I decided against it because it doesn't work if the Peregrine is a token (and I already have too many combos, haha). Thank you for your suggestions!

GoldenGolgari: The problem I had with Direfleet Ravager is that -- assuming your opponents start at 40 life -- you all go to 26, then to 17, then to 11. You can't kill them, even with a 4/4 menace/deathtouch each, but they usually kill you on the backswing. There's better things we can do at 5, and also this deck doesn't want to rely TOO heavily on our commander. Panharmonicon ended up being a little win-more, I just ended up discarding it most games -- and when it DID come down, it was blown up immediately >.<
