I had built a deck which had some higher cost cards which I could only cast if I happened to get Dark Ritual. However I decided to streamline and speed up that deck by removing those higher cost cards, I left Dark Ritual in to help me get game-ending 4-cost cards as early as turn 2.

There are several game ending strategies which could kill as early as turn 4, here are a few:

Turn 1: Swamp

Turn 2: Swamp, Dark Ritual, Bloodline Keeper

Turn 3: Swamp, Captivating Vampire, Tap Bloodline Keeper   For a vampire token.

Turn 4: Dark Ritual, Vampire Nocturnus, Transform Bloodline Keeper  , Attack with everything. If your top card happened to be a non-land card (around a 60% chance of that), you should be able to deal lethal damage.

If you didn't have a second Dark Ritual then transforming Bloodline Keeper   is still the priority (guaranteed +2/+2 is better than a "most likely" +2/+1, plus he transforms to a 5/5 flyer), and you can use the rest of the mana to cast whatever else you can, you may still win on turn 4 depending on how much damage you did on previous turns, but at the worst you'd win by turn 5.

And if you don't get the cards you needed for your win condition there's plenty of destruction and control to help you survive till you do.
