G/W Midrange by Brian Kibler

Standard GW (Selesnya)

Rather than go hard on the populate route that so many other players have been attempting, Kibler elected to keep it simple. Loxodon Smiter, Restoration Angel, and Wolfir Silverheart are all powerful cards that don't require your engine to be functioning at full power. You could certainly build a token-based deck, but don't you just want to smash your opponent?

For the lategame, Kibler included Armada Wurm, an obviously powerful card, and Trostani, who has mostly been ignored until this point. In his article a week ago, Kibler pointed out that Trostani is incredibly good against Zombies, both as a fine blocker and a way to maintain a high life total.

One minor point is that Trostani might not work with all those colorless lands. I'm unsure as to how many you can afford to play, but it's probably not four.
