It can stop Aggro with the small creatures that gain life, depleting their resources till you can play Thragtusk + Restoration Angel or a Rancor ed Loxodon Smiter

Midrange and Control never expect an artifact as Win-Con so, 1,2,3 turns Cathedral Sanctifier + Heroes' Reunion + Chalice of Life   is the key
