Thanks divinagon.

Exert Decks seem to provide it with the most challenge, at the moment.

I chuck most of my Sideboard in. Taking down their key Creatures seems to work.

Of course the Pro Tour will develop some over the top, ridiculous deck which no one can beat.

Argeaux,
Idk why T/O is borked, but you can get Bloodrage Brawler, Cut / Ribbons, Never / Return, and Sweltering Suns to display if you add "(AKH)"

Also, CONGRATS on the #1 spot! :-)

Argeaux,
I wasn't sure about Fling in here at first, because I'm used to using it with HUGE creatures instead of merely large ones. But it's amazing. As you mention above, it's great as a finisher. But I've been especially impressed with it in response to targeted removal. It's like Red got a counterspell!

After testing against Grixis Cycling, Saheeli Twin, Shadow Perspective Combo (Competitive), Bant Embalm, and a W/B Zombie brew I've been tinkering with but haven't uploaded I've made a few conclusions... First off, against my deck, I played 5 separate games. 3 of them I followed your playstyle instructions and the other two I played it how I would. Your deck lost four of the five matchups and sideboards were included in every game but the first. The major issue was recovery, the lack of one drops meant I had the time to hit your key creatures on turn 2 and 3 with Censor and you ran out of threats way faster. You actually fared fairly well against Copycat winning 3-2, the times you lost were to a super fast combo win and threat drought. A card that can vastly improve this matchup if you see a lot of it is Trespasser's Curse. You kept beating the Shadow Combo deck but I also think I wasn't playing that one right so the data probably isn't to reliable... you beat it 4-1 but I think that's mostly on me. Against the Bant Embalm you lost 2-3, a bunch of your creatures would trade in the early-mid game and he had way more recursion than you. The W/B Zombies also ended up winning 4-1 against you although it was super close almost every matchup. Time to Reflect absolutely wrecked your minotaurs every time I drew it...

All in all the major thing I noticed was the lack of card draw/recursion. The answers were in your deck but I had no way of getting to them. I'd consider adding something like Battlefield Scrounger or at least a Succumb to Temptation look-a-like. That should give you the legs to be a true mid-range/borderline aggro deck. If you want to go full aggro then you need to add in some one drops whether they fit the minotaur theme unfortunately. Not doing anything on turn 1 was killer against all of the control decks as it gives them way too much time to set up. The last angle that could work would be a discard angle, if you include some hand attack to force your opponent to go Heckbent with you I think it would go a long way towards your decks survivability.

Edit: I just remembered! Scarab Feast was the card I kept wishing you had while I was testing against Zombies and Bant Embalm, that card is the real deal. It has never not been useful for me in every game I've used with it. If I could recommend it more more than once I would lol

Thanks Jimmy_Chinchila

Thanks for the formatting heads up, clayperce.

I was skeptical about Fling but quickly moved it from 3 copies to 4.

You are right - they get rid of a Creature, you just throw it at them.

Thanks for all the testing and feedback, Zaueski.

Your suggestion of Battlefield Scrounger confuses me. What card did you actually mean?

Painful Lesson is the best card draw we are about to have, I believe.

I'll think about putting some in.

The only issue with it is that this deck WANTS to empty its hand ASAP.

I think Supernatural Stamina might be better in the Sideboard than Magma Spray, based on your testing.

Trespasser's Curse is an interesting suggestion.

Harsh Scrutiny might be a way forward to slow down the Opponent's tempo.

Just checking - did you remember to have you and your Opponent Discard a card when Neheb, the Worthy connected?

It's something I often forget to do while testing, and it really hurts Control decks.

That little Minotaur packs a lot of punch.

Oh yeah, Battlefield Scavenger is what I meant...

I playtested with Battlefield Scavenger, but didn't like what it offered, compared with the other 2 drops.

At the end of the day you can't put EVERYTHING in your deck.

I think I did forget Neheb, the Worthy triggers a couple times, but with my deck especially I think he only connected once and it was because I had a Fiery Temper ready for your attack. Most of your minotaurs never got to actually attack me because of all of my removal unless I was fine with it, Neheb and the 4/3 two drop one were killed almost immediately every time. Idk how much of that was TappedOut bias vs. reality but it happened fairly consistently across the games.

In my opinion, if you're running Neheb, the Worthy, I'd consider throwing in a few copies of Hazoret the Fervent and Fiery Temper for the discard advantage (eat your heart out, card advantage!), as well. If you can knock your hand size down to 0 or 1, you can swing for at least 8 on top of burning a potential blocker for 3 damage easily. Turn 3 Neheb, turn 4 Hazoret, turn 5: Pay for the discard, and another for Fiery Temper, swing for 8 is a really nice and incredibly aggressive play. Plus, by turn 5, this deck is aggressive enough to achieve no cards in hand. I really like this deck, and am now considering building it. Nice job!

OK we've hit the stage most of my decks do where there is a lot of theorising about how the deck will/should play.

Until I have taken it to Tournament I won't know how it performs against other decks in my meta. I will not be making any more changes until I have played it IRL.

Thanks for all your comments, votes, and help thus far.

Do you still want updates on the testing I'm doing? I've ported it over to Xmage to help with testing.

It's up to you Zaueski.

The thing to keep in kind is that you can't make one deck win every game.

You also can't fit everything in a deck and a Sideboard that will make it win every match up.

Finally, you can't perfectly match the play style of the person who created a deck.

That's one thing I learned from a guy from Wizards. He said it's useless putting cards in your deck that don't suit how you play, no matter how good they are.

Thanks hardhitta71194.

I'll do my best.

Alright sounds good, Ill still keep it as my aggro deck probably, but I won't pester you with card suggestions. If theres something specific that you feel needs a change shoot me a message and I'll try to help.

Argy says... #17

I'm happy to hear about any major revelations you come up with.

One thing I should remind you of is that you can Exile a Creature from an Opponent's Graveyard with Never / Return.

Something that can be used against the Embalm decks.

how do you plan on dealing with cat combo

April 21, 2017 12:38 p.m.

Argy says... #22

Outracing it.

I've been hitting for up to 18 damage on Turn 5. Often with Trample.

Alternatively killing Felidar Guardian with Unlicensed Disintegration.

If they play her early, knock Saheeli Rai on the head with Never / Return.

April 21, 2017 2:52 p.m. Edited.

Argy says... #23

Oh, and you can also Fling a Minotaur at either Felidar Guardian or Saheeli Rai.

+1'd just because I wanted to see someone's take on a minotaurs tribal build in Amonkhet. I will be attempting one of my own soon when I get around to brewing Minotaurs.

Cipher_8 leave a message on my profile when you've brewed your deck.

I'm interested in an different approach.
