I enjoy Magic mainly for brewing new jank decks, mostly within Standard format. Even if most end up private and never see the light of day.

I am more about the intellectual stimulation and not about the emotional (turn to turn gameplay) stimulation of the card game, as Magic the Gathering head designer Mark Rosewater puts it.

That is to say, I enjoy the deckbuilding process more than the actual playing of MTG.

It's like a puzzle with all the keywords and typal synergies between cards to me, brewing up some fringe combo or working on yet another tribal deck or themed deck all within Standard's or other format's limitations is just as much fun as playing a top meta competitive decklist that anyone can look up online.

Everybody knows about the latest tournament decklists and results the pro's are playing or the masses on MtgArena.

My fun is coming up with something fringe and unique or just the process of combining the cards into a thematic idea.

Spoiler season of the newest or upcoming set(s) is my favorite time to frequent tappedout and also after rotation happens because then the dynamic of what you can play within formats like standard changes.

I've sold my collection of cards on MTGO and I mainly play on Tabletop Simulator now, very rarely on Arena. I don't even own any paper Magic the Gathering™ cards anymore either.
