Super unrefined list going all in on Foil reprinted in the ultimate masters. List is super streamlined to test for ways to minimizing the drawbacks of casting Foil for "free", vanilla 3-for-1 style. thus, I have not included many of the big pauper staples or have included limited copies to test it in a U/R Madness themed shell.
As mentioned above, we are utilizing the Madness mechanic in order to take advantage of the "DISCARD ANOTHER CARD FROM YOUR HAND" clause that makes casting Foil so carelessly. The shell of this deck utilizes the most playable madness cards (purely for testing) in an aggressive U/R Delver shell. No Lightning Bolt or Counterspell here.
Some things I've found relatively strong in terms of synergies as a whole:
Any discard outlet, including Foil and Insolent Neonate allows for surprise tempo/reactive plays in the form of instant speed Fiery Temper, Reckless Wurm, or even Senseless Rage (which I have omitted from the list). This is relevant when your waiting for your opponent to go shields down (tapping out lands etc.) to dodge removal, counters spells and the like.
Naturally, Foil + Gush
is a power play to counter necessary threats while minimizing your losses off the drawbacks of foil.
Insolent Neonate is a good attacker for Ninja of the Deep Hours or simply just getting in for 1.
