Lost Jitte

Legendary Artifact — Equipment

Whenever equipped creature deals combat damage, put a charge counter on Lost Jitte.

Remove a charge counter from Lost Jitte: Choose one —

  • Untap target land.
  • Target creature can't block this turn.
  • Put a +1/+1 counter on equipped creature.

Equip (: Attach this to target creature you control. Equip only as a sorcery. This enters the battlefield unattached and stays on the battlefield if the creature this card is attached to leaves the battlefield.)

Balaam__ I just spent the last 2 hours play-testing casually to see how the life loss pans out, and most of the time? I'm fine. However, I am within what I like to refer to as my 'Red Panic' zone, where a RDW would knock me out.

  • In short, once I've gotten into the 6 or less life range, and that's frequent enough, averaging 2.3 repeated out of 5 times. It's often enough for me to consider mainboarding Nourishing Shoal, and that's really the best I've got for such a problem.

  • In matchups with burn the Shadowspear (or any of the other 1 drop artifacts, really) are ALWAYS, and I mean ALWAYS getting found turn 2. It's too easy with my Tutor line-up.

  • In control heavy matchups, as expected, I kinda play bad. Something like Berserk really doesn't help me here and wouldn't for legality, but I digress- in those types of games I don't really have a great option.. only a good one. Apostle's Blessing.

  • Stompy gets tanked because Green might be big but Golgari grows bigger. Surprisingly this is where the +1/+1 given from exile due to Plotting Aloe Alchemist is SO important. Because up against Boomer Tarmogoyf i edge out with the lead AND gain Trample for the turn on my turn .

  • Artifact heavy matchups get gutted by Force of Vigor, and only delays my game by a turn much like the description above. Monument to Endurance builds make me think about Delve cards, and Become Immense precisely.

  • If there's wiggle, it might be Lost Jitte or maybe Lavaspur Boots, both? Potentially...but that's super secure and strong because of it's built in consistency from Urza's Saga.

Niko9 Thanks for the feedback. I went ahead and streamlined the deck a bit. Most of the 4 drops were a bit too slow. I added a bit of protection, as well as a few smaller creatures, and I think the deck is in a way better place now! What do you think? I added some more spot removal like Witch Enchanter  Flip and Loran of the Third Path, also some evasion with Lost Jitte, Access Tunnel and Rogue's Passage. I added a Stoneforge Mystic since on curve I can reliably fetch the Lost Jitte, Grafted Exoskeleton and Prosthetic Injector

I did some more playtesting and realized that trying to split the focus between landfall and second card draw triggers was pretty unreliable so I rebuilt it to be full on landfall. I added the Lost Jitte like you suggested and holy is it ever busted haha but I didn’t have room for Leather Armor.

I’ll add you on arena and we can try out both our versions against each other!

Heyo nice build! +1 just for seeing another Arena player here on this site.

I've been toying with Nadu as well as she can get pretty ridiculous quite quickly. My build went a different direction than yours but one interaction I found that was particularly nasty that you may want to play around with was Lost Jitte -- especially since you can build up counters on it using a creature other than Nadu.

Free repeatable land untapping plays extremely well with Nadu's lands already entering untapped (broken as hell, imo), and you can just keep re-equipping the Jitte to the same creature over and over to very reliably chunk out both of Nadu's possible triggers each turn essentially mana-free by using any lands she drops into play & then just Jitte untapping them once you use them for the Equip activation. The card draw and mana ramp from this interaction is absolutely insane.
