Enchantment - Aura

Enchant creature you control

As an additional cost to cast this spell, exile a creature card from your graveyard.

As long as enchanted creature and the exiled creature share a creature type, enchanted creature is a copy of the exiled card.

Izeet research into spirit channeling made rapid progress once they learned that ghosts don't appreciate being set on fire.

This card took me through Dead Ringers levels of awkward wording. Everything I tried was either ambiguous or wordy, and I'm still not totally satisfied. Izzet Reanimator, anyone?

Anyway, I got ninja'ed, but no new challenge. Create a card inspired by a tarot card.

"Last known information" is usually used in the following situations:

  1. An effect needs info about an object that has left its expected zone (Severed Strands needs LKI to know what the toughness of the creature you sacrified is)

  2. An effect would make an object deal damage after it left its expected zone (if Boros Reckoner is dealt lethal damage, it dies before its triggered ability resolves, so it needs LKI to know how much damage it took; similarly if it has lifelink, it also needs LKI to know how much life its controller should gain)

  3. An effect needs info about a player that has left the game (Biomantic Mastery uses the LKI of a player that has left the game to determine how many cards to draw, as long as the other target player is still a legal target)

  4. A spell or ability needs info about one of its illegal targets (Dead Ringers targets two nonblack creatures, but one is then made black through another spell or ability and becomes an illegal target; Dead Ringers uses LKI to compare the two creatures' colors for the still-legal target)

So if Ashiok's second ability was, for some reason, trying to check Ashiok's information, then LKI would be involved. The cards exiled with that instance of Ashiok, Nightmare Weaver are still where they're supposed to be (exiled with that instance of Ashiok), so the ability doesn't need to check LKI to resolve.

Thanks for the suggestion, K00lDudE1. I do like Old-Growth Dryads, and it's on my want list for when the set comes out. Usually with a card like this, you ask yourself if it does enough to be worthy of a card slot. In this case I'm giving out so much card draw to everyone, including myself, taking up a card slot isn't really an issue, and while the effect of the card isn't earth shaking, for the incredibly low casting cost, I could pretty much cast it whenever I want without disrupting any other plans I may have that turn. So yeah I like it, and as JustcallmeSoul said, in EDH, vanilla 3/3 creatures aren't given a second look, so that's not a worry.

wylie72, Perplexing Chimera would be such a "poison pill" in this deck. I've played against it, and I don't like it. When it hits the battlefield, it draws laser focus from everyone, while being hard to get rid of. No, I don't want to introduce something that unfun into such a fun deck.

I did include Perplexing Chimera in a prototype "confusion and chaos" EDH deck I started to build a while back, along with cards like Dead Ringers, Ice Cauldron, Warp World, Eye of the Storm, etc. I gave up on the project though, it would be such a pain in the ass for everyone (including myself) to have to deal with.
